Han Solo and Target Lock

By DB Draft, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I am guessing this has been covered thoroughly but I could not find it.

How many rerolls could you get if Han Solo used Target Lock?

How many rerolls could you get if you had Han Solo, Target Lock and Gunner?

Easy to follow examples would be appreciated.

The rules state that attack/defense dice can only ever be rerolled once per attack. So Han + Target lock is somewhat useless.

If you use han to reroll all of your dice that you can, then you cannot use target lock at all. If you instead use target lock to reroll some of the dice, then you can only use Han to reroll the dice that you didn't reroll with the target lock (which would be pointless since they were likely hits that you would not reroll with your target lock).

At most with gunner you can:
Attack, then reroll with Han or TL
If the attack misses, then attack again, then use Han or TL to reroll.

Hope this helps.

Ok I think that makes sense, so Han Solo's ability is basically the same as a Target Lock but you can use it once for him and once for a Gunner attack whereas a Target Lock gets used once and discarded. No rerolls of rerolls.

Except don't forget that with Han, you must reroll as many dice as possible (which basically means anthing not already rerolled). You'll have to reroll everything including hits with Han. =]

Q: If Han's attack rolls #1 and #2 do not have any hits, the Gunner (if added)
may roll his attack next. If the Gunner's roll has no hits, does the Gunner get to roll
again because of Han Solo's ability?
Yes. Han Solo's pilot ability triggers once per attack. Since the Gunner
allows a ship to perform a second attack,
Han Solo's pilot ability can trigger.
Thanks for playing!

Lets say your attack rolls one hit and three misses you then have to decide how many dice you want to re roll.

Can you re roll the three misses or you are obliged to roll all the dice?

If you're using a Target Lock to reroll, then you can choose to reroll only the misses

If you're using Han's ability to reroll, then you have to reroll all dice that you can reroll, which will mean all of them unless you've already used a target lock to reroll some of them or you opponent has used Elusiveness to make you reroll one of them.
