Donovan,

I don't think that is the case. Plus Gen Con ticket purchases have been really smooth the last few years since they did the wish lost processing.

I know quite a few folks that would very strongly disagree with that statement, including some that clicked to validate their Wish List the second it went live… only to find their place in the waiting queue was in the 2000's, which pretty much ensured they weren't going to get the majority of the events they were looking for. I heard one (unverified) account of a person getting a queue number over 3000, having clicked two seconds after event purchasing went live.

As for FFG holding back, they at least included a plethora of event listings for EotE, running their two events multiple times a day from Thursday to Saturday. So unless a person foolishly booked their entire day's schedule on that very Sunday, there's plenty of choices available. I'm already looking at one session of each adventure, with possible additional sessions via generics (space or lack of pick-up games permitting).

Well, all 110 tickets are now sold out. Now what? I mean, I know FFG's event staff isn't ginormous, but I figured they'd dedicate more than 2 tables to demoing the new hotness for the biggest license around.

They were probably only able to get so much space, and let's be honest, in comparison to CCGs and Board Games, RPGs don't offer as good a return on investment. From a business perspective, it probably makes more sense for FFG to use what space they do have to demo product lines that offer a larger return on investment.

I'd love it if FFG was able to have more demo sessions of their new Star Wars RPG, and I'm sure Jay Little and Sam Stewart would to. But the fact remains that FFG is a business, and they have to view these sorts of matters through that perspective, determining what provides the biggest bang for the buck in terms of resources, namely people available to demo games and space to demo them in.

Well now that the events have been posted, the thread will need something new and equal stupid to…

oh wait, this just in!
