Blowing up Defender's?

By Navitude, in UFS Rules Q & A

Well I was supposed to post this about a week or two ago, but with the new mechanic definitions, I think it's about the right time.

Senario:

I play two T. Hyate from my hand and my opponent goes ah crap on the second one. He can't block it nor can he stop the enhance which reads "Destroy one asset or foundation with a response printed on it in your opponents staging area" (or something similar). Since Breaker is a 'response' keyword ability, may I have the option of blowing it up insted of other cards?

If not, why?

first of all, reversal is already a keyword ability.

second, when a split card enters play it becomes whichever side you played exclusively, defender in the staging area does not have the attack side.

the asset side of defender has Breaker 1

Thats what his question is referring to

Also the attack side does not have Reversal, it has Weapon (not a keyword ability or a response)

Yes, you can blow it up. Breaker is a response ability, and Tsuji Hayate counts any response ability printed on the card. It's like the reversal ordeal. When an attack is played, not as a reversal, but it has the reversal keyword, it can still trigger effects that say "...only playable if you have a reversal in your pool..." Just because they're not using the breaker, doesn't mean it isn't considered printed on the asset side.

sorry, i didnt read defender and i dont play it. i also misread the original post slightly.

401.2.5 Breaker: X – R: After you block with this card, if this card is in your card pool when your opponent
attempts to play their next card this turn, your opponent’s card gets +X difficulty. X equals the breaker
rating of this card.

breaker is already an R: in the tournament rules.

its printed on the card thats in play so you can destroy defender with tsuji hayate

Yeah, it works. Tsuji can break Defender.
