Is it just me or does this card have infinite possibilities? By itself, it's a 2/5 foundation with three strong symbols to it's credit. It may not have a block on it, but neither do a lot of other strong cards these days. The foundation effect is a very flexible option that can be used for either offensive or defensive purposes. At the cost of one foundation, you can get a free peek at your opponent's hand and the chance to commit a problem foundation. Now I know what some of you are saying. "There's a better foundation with a block in the Evil lineup that does the same thing.'' But what you're overlooking about that bitter card is that you have to show your opponent your hand to potentially see theirs. Not only that, but it has a higher difficulty for a lower check. It's action side is just as good. At the cost of dropping 2 non-attacks, you draw three cards. That may not be important to some, but if I'm stuck with no options, it would be nice to drop some things I don't need for possible attacks. Better still, since this card shares with Billiard Player it's potentially a setup to get a foundation or asset you want out into the grave so it can be playered in later.
Exist Within: Diamond In The Rough or Just Glass?
definitely a diamond. i haven't used it since the evil patch event, but the build was promo astaroth. this card plus kunai made free fuel for mellymerc and put more cards in hand.
the point about billiard player is a nice one - but take it further. throw victor plus reanimated into the equation and now you have a handwashing engine to rip through your deck at a much faster rate.
I really like that card a lot I think it will combo well once block 3 begins when set 12 comes out and the resources are amazing.
I ran it is **Rera** at canadian team nationals, mainly for the action side to grab extra blocks.
It's a very nice tech card. But in Death/Order it's likely overshadowed by Strife's Patronage (for looking at their hand, at least), as it has a block and a second relevant ability. Buuuut...more foundation committing is never a bad thing. And the action side is very nice, particularly with Kunai, as Omarion mentioned. Draw draw draw!
I think the card will shine if thoes symbols get better card pool clearing abilities. Cycling 3 cards can be strong, doing it without card pool clogging is much better. It is a solid way to search out combo pieces. The card is honestly not going to shine unless you can utilize both sides however, because with ocladans in effect it will be hitting the staging area.
Hee hee, Donovan. That makes me giggle. And also Flames of Fame. Delicious combo potentials are revealed to mine eyes!
I don't really like that card all too much, since the cost is discarding 2 cards. If you fail the check you still have to discard and if it gets negated your out two cards and all you got was an extra card in your pool. I have used it before with bad experiences. If kunia was still around it wouldnt be as dangerous to use but it's not so sucks. However the being able to see your opponents hand is nice.
its really good with victor being able to add cards to your opponents hand so that way you know what they have before you use it and if you know they have one in the staging area as well hthen that makes it good
Are there any other cards that let you choose cards to put into your opponents hand? like from there staging area or their discard pile?

Perhaps, but after the first one it's an inconsequential cost. Your opponent already knows what's in your hand - he already saw it! However, committing a foundation? That is a REAL cost with potential gameplan suicide.
I think I may try this with a Legacy Ukyo build...just to see what happens.

Yes it is a real cost. But so is revealing your strategy to your opponent by revealing your hand as a cost. With Exist, you commit a foundation to check your opponent's strategy without revealing your own.

Why overshadowed? It can be comboed with it! Use strife's to view their hand while reducing speed and then use exist to commit a copy of something they have out that you know is in their hand. Strife's also makes fulfilling Exist's blocking condition easier as well. And with multiple copies of Exist out? The possibilities are endless...
Defensively knowing your opponent's hand can be extremely strong too; remove all the bluffing games, "Does he have a hammer/other move to kill me?" -- now you know.

Honestly, at this point in the game, revealing your strategy means jack squat. Most likely your opponent's already figured it out by the time you're pulling Es, and if he hasn't, you're likely to stomp him anyway. You're not dealing with SUPER SECRET STRATS~ here. We're talking about non-Set 12 Block 3 UFS at the mo'. Not a whole lot of winning strategies here other than "Toss huge attack. Shut down opponent. Win."
I think my brain just came...
Use that one character we all thought was amazing, yet never saw play: **Lord Raptor**. Use Olcadan's Mentoring to rig their foundations, Raptor's ability to give their hand copies, then Remy's support to punish them for copies. Death may not be the best right now, but **** can you do some creative stuff! O_O
Anyways
After re-reading it, it looks a lot better being Commit ONE foundation, not just E Commit. Shinobi abuse?
The card is mediocre. See, the problem is that, while you get to peer into their hand (suck it Your Mind is Known to Me), if they don't have any copies of...whatever, then it's pretty much a waste. Here's one practical use for the card
For the most part, most people using Defender will have one in play, and end up trying to ditch them during the review step. If they don't think carefully, they might just get their Defender tapped when going for the loop.
Decent card, and it has some uses, but those uses are quite limited =/
It could've really used a block I think, since it's a gamble 1-for-1 commit effect.
it may be a gamble, but it's STILL an action side handwash. don't forget that
Yeah. I despise cards like that. Coming from a Yugioh background, where the top decks all run full playsets of TWO different cards that essentially pitch 2 cards to draw 2 cards, I find it a really annoying mechanic. It doesn't matter as much in UFS, since the draw power is naturally stronger, but I still don't like a card that clogs the card pool just to end up with the same amount of cards in hand as when you began.
same amount, yes, but 3 cards deeper into the deck. also, the check used to play EW. it has evil. Gorgeous Team has evil. more to choose from in the discard is a good thing.
The combo it has with Kunai makes me giggle. Is good for my TB *cough*
