Now the ruling on the interaction with matrix analizer with the new wayland identity has been stated that because of how the cards are worded you are not actually advancing the ice with matrix analizer because you are not using an action but instead are paying to place an advancement token on something that can be advanced. Now keeping this in mind woodcutter reads that this card cannot be advanced until it is rezed. Because of the past ruling involving matrix analizer, does this mean that since you are not infact advancing woodcutter but simply placing an advancement token on woodcutter, which can host advancement tokens, can be advanced with matrix analizer because you are not infact advancing it. Now I do note that matrix analizer does specifically call for a card that can be advanced and that woodcutter cannot be advanced until it is rezed, but woodcutter can be advanced while rezed and matrix analizer does not say "on a card that can be advanced at this time" only one that can be advanced which could mean a card that currently can be advanced or on a card that can host advancement tokens at some point.
I would also like to note that my play group has currently been assuing that matrix analizer does not work in this way but we came across this today while playtesting some of our decks and were curious. Thank you for the help.
