Imperial Fast Attack squad?

Hi everyone, just had an idea come to me for a fast moving Imperial squad and thought I'd get people's thoughts on it; you're welcome to tell me it's s**t.

Now I know it'll be moving first and shooting last always, but thought it would be fun and have enough hull points (18) to last a while, with every ship being able to boost.

Looks to be fairly solid, you'll be hard to catch that's for sure. Never really had to contend with a swarm list though as I only play with a few close friends.

I like it. I found that putting a tie advance with some torpedoes really draws fire and frees up other ships to do what they need. with your list a good tactic would be to move slow the first round then all out the second to be right in their face.

Like everyone else, I also think it is a solid list. I'd split it in to two flights of one Alpha Squad and two Academy, and put the flights on opposite edges of the board. It will either force your opponent to split their forces to come after you, which you usually have more shots than. Or, even better, they will focus on one flight, and your other flight has enough speed to get around and shoot them from behind.

A slightly different spin would be

Avenger Squadron x2

Alpha Squadron x2

Academy Pilot x2

Put the Academy Pilots in the middle of the board, and send them forward as sacraficial lambs. Put an Avenger and Alpha Squad on the table edges as the pincers. Again, your opponent will either split their forces and you can get local superiority, or they will leave some of your forces free to line up some good attack runs.

How can an Advance take torpedoes, or did you mean missiles?
