falling unconcious

By Nephtys2, in WFRP Rules Questions

ok, i still don't know if i got it right:

when is the PC knocked down and a wound is converted into a critical? is that really just when he has more crits than TO?

is there a limit to how many wounds one can suffer? as my players always insist that they can have more wounds than their threshold allows. but what sense does the threshold make then? would you fall down if you had twice your threshold?

maybe you can help me out there
thx
neph

Neph, lucky for you, I live in a small room above the FFG forums and have nothing better to do :)

Question 1: Is there a limit to how many wounds you can suffer? NO. In our last game our pistolier has a wound threshold of 13 and had suffered 26 wounds. He had 3 criticals and was on death's door. In D&D-terms, he was negative 13. As soon as you go unconcious from wounds however, you flip one of your regular wounds to become a critical.

Question 2: When does unconsciousness occur?

  • When your total wounds is greater than your wound threshold you go unconscious. E.g. Wound Threshold of 10 means 11 wounds you go unconscious.
  • When your fatigue is greater than twice your Toughness, you go unconscious. E.g. Toughness of 3 means 7 stress to go unconscious.
  • When your stress is greater than twice your Willpower, you go unconscious (pass out). E.g Willpower of 4 means 9 stress to go unconscious.
  • When roleplaying demands it. E.g. you get conked on the head and the GM says, "everything goes black for plot reasons and you later wake up a prisoner of the cultist of Slaanesh.."

Question 3: When does death occur? Death occurs when you are both wounded beyond your wound threshold and your number of criticals is greater than your Toughness. E.g. Toughness 4 and you get your 5th critical.
