Pretty much the Rebel version of Howlrunner, then.

Actually, much worse. Up to range 3??

She's gonna be target #1 in any Rebel squadron she is with! Looks like she can take a crew upgrade, too. Nien Numb, anyone?

Well, I must say that I am pleasantly surprised at the "large" ship choices, and their roles in the game.

Support ships would not have been my first guess, but it does add a new wealth of tactical diversity to the game.

As for the Crow being on a small base, that's rather odd. I wonder if it's the final say…

advanced sensors is really cool. allows you to use it anytime you would do a koiogran manuver

also, colonel jendon's pilot ability looks to make interceptors a nasty force to be recconed with

and most of all.. i ABSOLUTELY LOVE Jan Ors ability, that's going to make rebel lists stupid strong in terms of firepower and he himself can take an ion cannon turret with him.. i really can't wait now

so it turns out FFG had their genius caps on when thinking about the design of the B wing

l
ooks to be Poseable setting for the B-wing so they were already thinking what i was hoping for.. an angled B-wing after all

SICK!

Oh, I didn't even notice that. The connection goes straight in the back. So it totally looks like you could insert the mount into B-Wing sideways, and just use one fewer pegs for the base, and it'll be on its side.

Nice!

i am not afraid

b-wing and bomber are ok but the others are not realy good

i hope this two have a big mission and rule expansion to are good

but now the only reason to buy this is … to have it in my fleet collection

The Lambda Wings are poseable as well. It's a nice little touch for both ships.

Do not underestimate the new ships. Jan + B-wing + HLC. 5 attack dice with a secondary weapon.

Jan + ORM. 4 attack range 1 for a CHEAP 360 turret.

PS 2 Advanced + concussion missile + shuttle driver = cheap missile carrier that doesn't suck in combat after the missile is gone. He can pass the TL to the advanced, shoot with the HLC and focus if he has PtL. The advanced Noe gets one free blank hit, a focus token, and all the normal hits + criticals.

Advanced sensors? Shuttle driver + PtL + HLC = TL, focus, HLC at range 3. Deadly.

B-wing looks to be 24 points. B-wing + HLC = 31 points. 3 B-wings with HLC = 93 points. Enough room for an advanced proton torp I think.

Think outside of the box. These ships are a huge change to the game.

I think the Moldy Crow choice is awesome. I loved Dark Forces, and the Jedi Knight series was a very popular one. Kyle Katarn will be in the game, sweet!

On the other hand, I'm disappointed in the Lambda shuttle. It's not meant for combat … it's a shuttle. It has weapons, sure, but … eh. I was hoping for TIE Defenders and Z-95 Headhunters, but I guess I'll take the HWK-290 and the Lambda.

Any word on when Wave 3 will be released?

To be honest, I've never even heard of the Moldy Crow, but then X-Wing is the only SW video game I've ever played.

I think I see where FFG is coming from. Both the Moldy Crow and Lambda are "transports" (new mission types?), and have roughly similar armaments. According to Wookieepedia, the Moldy Crow has:
4x Dual laser cannons
1x Blaster cannon turret

…and the Lambda has:
4x Twin Taim & Bak KX5 laser cannons
1x Twin blaster cannon turret aft

Despite this, the scans here show that the HWK-290 has 1 attack and 2 defense, while the Lambda shuttle has 3 attack and 1 defense. Seems kinda unbalanced and not reflective of the ships' supposed capabilities.

Nvm. No PtL on shuttle driver.

my evidence is focused on the hawk and tha lambda shuttle

i like more smal siced fighters the biger one are taktiks an gimmiks in the game and we must handle it with the smale one

other post:

the game is focused on the dog fight

i think we can exclude the force from this becouse we have only two sensitiv pilots an this is vader an luke

so what da hell we become the hawk ?

b wing and bomber are fine expansions and the lambda i think is a good both side vehicle
and now ? i think its bedder to bring another both side ship
or a big sice misson part playable in tournaments or more in direction like the pc games (map, missions, targets, ranking) a expansion for local stores to worship more the star wars nerd feeling.
we have enough tournemant settings

I like all the new ships. The B-wing and the bomber were almost mandatory, but the lambda and Moldy Crow are really nice surprises. I don't know about their usefulness on the battlefield, but they are one of my favorite ships from the SW universe; so, I am buying both for sure. :)

Nice!

If they are using the standard bits for the socket on the B-Wing and the elbow piece that fits in the back then it will not be poseable due to the flat spots on the peg and socket.

The HWK is definitely a support ship. Could be good if you can keep it within range of your ships and out of range of the opponent it will be really good.

The hawk is one of the best things from today's announcement. Coming from the Dark Forces PC games, this is real confirmation that the EU is open to development. I'm shouting for joy. But I promise that I'll still never say "okey day" out loud.

Sweet the Lambda has folding wings, it just might fit in my storage!

The Crow is on a large base. The HWK-290 is 29 meters long. The Lamba shuttle is 20 meters. They're both on large bases. It looks small because the angle doesn't show the length of the ship well as the perspective level is pretty much flat in the shot.

I'm REALLY surprised this hasn't been mentioned here yet - I guess I get a Wookiee Cookie - but in the chat with the Developers is was mentioned that they coordinated with Lucas (himself, I think) and it was established that the NOW CANON length for the HWK is… 16.5 meters. There was actually a guy in the audience that started quibbling with them, and the Devs were like, "it's 16.5 m." And - I saw the prototype with my own eager eyeballs, and it's on a small base. We all thought there'd be two big ships, but they gave us a Lucas-grade "psych!!" it's quite a lovely piece, though. And that Lambda: it's BIG!

I agree with IJT that the inclusion of the Crow busts the future of the game wide open. The Devs were even saying, there's virtually limitless ships. They couldn't/wouldn't give any indication of where it's going, however. I'd definitely now expect a YT-2400 & TIE Defender at some point now, though!

It LOOKS like a poseable setting for the B-Wing (and I hope it is), but the FFG guy I was talking to said he didn't think so. It has to be said he wasn't given the chance to actually play with the models, though (he did confirm the Lambda's folding wings). Ha, he also pointed out that if the thing DID rotate, folks would ***** that the cockpit didn't rotate for orientation as well! I expect he's right.

I'm betting we will see Vader as a Crew Member with the Lambda Shuttle considering the inclusion of his Shuttle and its Piolot.

I also think that its interesting that Jan is an 8 and Kyle is a 6.

I am totally digging all the new ships! Very excited for Wave 3, so I'm probably going to hold off on the second Slave I & Millennium Falcon I was planning on. Maybe.

The new upgrades are going to be great, too. So excited for Proton Bombs and Advanced Proton Torpedoes!

My only real concern is the model of the TIE bomber. I'm sure it will be just fine, but I've hard several players mention that they broke a wing off the TIE advanced trying to get it off the stand. The TIE bomber is shaped the same AND has a little sensore cluster hanging down by the peg. This could be a pain to take on and off the peg. Doesn't mean I'm not going to buy it! :D

Main page just dropped a bunch of info on the new ships.

http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=4116

Holy Crap, TIE Bomber carries TWO missiles, TWO torpedoes and a bomb.

I see expert handling being taken more often once wave three hits

WOOOOOOWWWWWW JAN ORS IS A BEAST!!!!

JAN ORS

PILOT SKILL 8

COST 25pts

ATK 1

DEF 2

HULL 4

SHIELD 1

When another friendly ship at range 1-3 is attacking, if you have no stress tokens, you may recieve 1 stress token to allow that ship to roll 1 additional attack die

Now pair this up with Wedge with Expose and get 6 attack dice at range one. :)

This will not be a problem for me as I store my ships with one peg attached after pulling the socket out of too many ships when removing it.
