Basically the same thing. Epic Battle Cards are the 16 generic cards that you use for all GOOs (except Azathoth, of course) when in the final battle. They replace the normal rounds by dictating who can attack, in what roder, and if anything special happens. The Ancient One plot cards are the 3 specific cards for each GOO (except Azathtoth again), that are also used in the final battle4. They are resolved exactly the same. The Epic Battle cards will instruct you when to draw the Plot cards.
For Example...
The "Sinister Plot" Epic Battle card says this:
Draw a card from the Ancient One's Plot deck and immediately resolve it as though it were the Battle card for this round.
And one of Cthulhu's Plot cards says this...
Thanks, just one clarification: If the epic battle cards tell you to draw plot cards, than what is the need of epic battle cards? you could just draw a plot card to begin with? tnx ahead.
Because some of the Epic Battle Cards say things like:
Investigators Attack, then Ancient One Attacks
or
Ancient One Attacks, then Investigators Attack
okay thanks .

Ruight, you have 16 epic cards. Only 3 of them direct you to specific ancient plot cards.

Sinister Plot cards are a type of card that is randomly drawn when you draw an Epic Battle card that tells you to draw a Sinister Plot card (there's one in the green cards and two in the red cards). There are 8 green Epic Battle Cards that are shuffled and go on the top, and 8 red Epic Battle Cards that go on the bottom. Usually you or the AO doesn't survive to the red :') But I've gotten there a few times.
Hi.
I drew from Chaugnar's Sinister Plot card "The Obstacle is Removed" (player with the most gate trophies is devoured). But only one investigator was alive, and he hadn't any gate trophies. So, is he devoured because "0" is the highest number in this situation or is he alive because he has no gate trophies? I'm not sure. This is important for me, because I won if this investigator survived

I'd say eaten, since 0 is still the highest number.

Agreed. Devoured. the point is to eliminate one investigator. If there is only one, he is the automatic target.
Thanks. I had hope, but you have right. Also the epic text on this card says that the most valuable player was eaten and, in fact, it was me. Chaugnar with epic cards is quite hard. Yet again his sinister plot saved him from my investigator.

Of course, Pinky's letdown is his pathetic Slumber Party ability. Which then translates into a "must-prepare" final combat attack
.
I... don't think so. His pathetic slumber ability is a reason to avoid final combat. Preparing will almost always end in tears (and no, I don't mean "tears" like from your eyes. I mean "tears" like "Chaugnar Faugn tears your soft flesh asunder").
Hah ;') nice pun. Didn't see it coming.
