Big Expansion for 2nd edition

By wildchild2, in A Game of Thrones: The Board Game

Hi,

Last week for the first time I try the old version of Games Of Thrones with two expansions and I was amazed!!

Many things to think and to do… Fantastic!! Character, adding order, special order… and many others…

My simple questions is: For Games Of Thrones second edition there will be big expansions??

Thanks

I think no, you leady can play with six Players in the second edition. If they produce an expansion, it will be small, as example the Dance With Dragons expansion, or Print on Demand expansion.

I mean, what would be in such a big expansion? In the first edition, you only can with 4 Players, without the expansions, with expansions with 6 players.

New houses would be an idea, but the only house who could be in an expansion is Targaryen. But then you need another big map with Daenaerys in essos.(the bigger continent next to westeros)

And Tully and Arryn would not have much space in riverrun and in the eyrie.

So i would not expect an big expansion.

Actually 1st edition base game was 5 players. The first expansion added the 6th player and a host of optional components. The second expansion added a separate 4 player map with several rules changes, plus a few options to mix into the base game.

The 1st edition add-ons they still don't have are 1-time orders, fortifications, leaders, and tactics cards. (Although the change to the special consolidate order partially implements the 1-time orders).

That said, I agree that Fantasy Flight seems unlikely to release these as an expansion for 2nd edition. What I would be happiest to see is a whole 2nd edition reprint of the Storm of Swords map, but it seems they are trying to do something similar with just cards in the Feast for Crows expansion.
