Is this a widespread problem? Based on the threads I've seen it appears that it is, but I find that a little surprising.

My local store regularly has 10+ of each expansion, and the owner assures me he sells out of that about every 2 weeks, meaning he is constantly being resupplied. I wont get into any other details of the store, but the store is relatively large and suffice to say stock has not been an issue here. I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Last Saturday when I was there they had over 20 core sets. I haven't had any issue getting 4-5 of every ship (2-3 of large ones). Am I just really lucky?

I am considering buying some new and then re-selling them, seems like a lot of people would pay a little extra to get the ships they want. I'm just surprised other areas are having issues given how readily available everything is here.

I don't think the problem is in the USA, except maybe in a couple areas where miniatures are real popular or un-popular (works both ways, if you can't sell it why stock it). The problem seems to be Europe/Australia, where they are waiting patiently/impatiently for anything. Hopefully FFG stays on schedule and gets the waive 1 ships back out this month to distributors.

I do disagree with you wanting to buy ships to re-sell and make a profit at the expense of some people not being able to find every ship they want, but that's just me. I personally would let people know where they can find ships locally as some people are doing in other threads.

Of course, I wouldnt do this myself for free since I would have to take some risk that I would buy the ships and then not be able to sell them/etc, and the store I was referring to isnt an online retailer (at least not yet). i live in austrlalia, i ordered the core game a month ago and it was apost to arrrive but the store told me the shipment got delayed. so did the stock of wave 1 and the tie interceptor. if i want to i can go out and buy some stuff but it is not worth the price $60 for the core game is a joke and $20+ for the small expansions, i will be broke if i had to buy it at those prices

I'm in the states and my local store got octuple their wave 2 order, so they still have some A-Wings and Squints left, but they're out of all the big ships and all of the wave 1 stuff.

I'm in Australia, when I ordered the game I ordered the core set plus several Wave 1 expansions. I had to wait for these items to firstly arrive in store then when shipped only half the order arrived as the store was still waiting on a shipment. I did think of ordering from Amazon but decided that I'd like to help out local suppliers.

So yes here in Australia we wait, patiently (well in my case anyway)

Also in Aus here and I have experienced the same problems. I originally ordered one of each from wave 2 . Only a couple of days after my original order was placed I decided to do a second order to get more Awings and Interceptors. The first ordered arrived close to the release date however they sold out in between the first and second order and now I am waiting months potentially for these new ships.
