Hello all! I just became a member. I mostly run Squads for the Rebels considering most of my friends just buy Imperial ships. I've had some interesting battles so far, some ending in a bit of hilarity.
The first game I played with a certain friend of mine was us pitting our large ships against one another to teach him the game rules. His Firespray against my Millenium Falcon at 60 points. The game was fairly even, seeing us trade blows quite a bit. Neither of us had shields remaining. It looked like my friend might gain the upper hand at one point. Then he unintentionaly flew his Firespray too close to the edge of the map. Next turn he fled the Battlefield and I won.
One notable game was last week with the same friend. I ran a squad of 100 points, consisting of Rookie Pilot (R2-D2), Gold Squadron Pilot (Ion Cannon Turret), Prototype Pilot and Outer Rim Smuggler (Luke Skywalker, Millenium Falcon). My friend ran a pretty good team of Imperial ships which I cannot quite remember other than having an extremely upgraded Kath Scarlet, a TIE Interceptor (Stealth Device) and a TIE Fighter. By the end of the match my falcon was almost destroyed (0 Shields, 1 Hull) and his last ship standing (or flying, rather) was his Firespray. In the next to last turn, I attempted to save the Falcon by speeding it away from his Firespray. He caught up to me and destroyed my Falcon. Next turn he ran into an Asteroid and took 1 damage to his hull, just the amount needed to destroy his ship. Out of my 4 ships, 3 had survived.
