Adding uncancelled success damage from NPC's/Minions?

By Blue Dog, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I'm sure this is a silly question but I've gone through all the rulebooks available and searched the forums and can't seem to find it anywhere:

When NPC's and minions attack the PC's, do you add the extra damage from uncancelled successes, just like when PC's attack?

We've been playing without it but I'm realizing this is probably why combat doesn't feel super threatening to my group.

I do it that way and I also use the advantages to trigger any special abilities, I do this more with Nemesis leve NPCs rather than Henchmen though.

Yes. Damage from a successful works the same for PCs and NPCs alike.

So if your bad guy scores a hit with a heavy blaster pistol and has three successes, the PC they targeted has to resist 10 damage.

And yes, this can lead to a large group of Stormtrooper minions being very dangerous, given they're rolling a bunch of Proficiency dice and thus have better odds of coming up with lots of uncancelled successes.

Thank folks, our combat sessions are about to become a whole lot more interesting ;)
