Finished painting my base set. Enjoy!

By germ, in Battlelore

At first I thought I'd wait for all of my expansions to be painted before I sent in some pics, but I got impatient. sonrojado.gif Besides, I figured you guys would appreciate new content to look at while we patiently await the new expansions. I started painting them about a year ago, so it might be awhile before I finish painting the expansions released so far, but I'll keep uploading some pictures as soon as I finish each one.

Enjoy! (I sure hope the link works...)

Fantastic work! I will eventually paint mine too, but first I have Descent followed by Age of Conan to take care of first. You are really good at painting.

They look great,

I especially like it that you´ve painted so closely to the colours in the rulebook.

I thought hard abuot wether to go by the colours in the pictures we´ve seen from the game, or to paint according to banner-colour.

I choose the later, but seeing you green/blue goblins makes me wish I had gone more with the gamepicture colours.

nice work! and boy is painting the base set work!

It most certainly is! The 72 individual blue banner swordmen were the worst to tackle in my opinion. (You of all people will probably agree since you painted quite a bit of these yourself). Difference is I didn't have the luxury of having an airbrush, but I garantee if I had a miniature-painting service such as yours (your work is superb by the way), I would definitely invest in one.

Thanks for the nice comments guys, I appreciate it! happy.gif

I remimber the trail of the 72 swordsmen!

the air brush is nice but really you could get away with using a cheaper spray gun and get the same results.

All the battlore minis I have painted are now sold to a client, i'm working on my personal set thats going to be scaled up using lord of the rings minis!

EXCEPTIONAL!!!!

So... Freakin'... Awesome!

Makes me want to paint my stuff, too.

As soon as I'm done with all those Anima figures I bought. As well as those 15mm Napoleonics sitting on the shelf. And those Plague Marines. Can't forget about those Wood Elves...

Aw, heck. Let's just face he fact that I'll forever be envious of you. Good job!

Nice work. Ahh so many miniatures, so little time.

as said before, I really like your set

A question: what did you do about pattern for the dwarfs shields?

A question: what did you do about pattern for the dwarfs shields?

Answer: Not much. The fronts of the shields looks quite similar to the insides of the shields which you can see on the picture - that is, plain brown with silver trim. - The only difference is I used bestial brown for the front and scorched (a bit darker) brown for the inside (and then a really thin black outlinearound the silver trim).

I chose not to put any crest-type design on the dwarve's shields because I didn't want to over do it with crests so I went with something simpler.

How do you do the white coat of arms? I know white is not the easiest of colors to do and I'm *always* having trouble with them.

Germ, your painting skills on your Battlelore figures are stunning.

Love the uniqueness of the shield emblems, facial hair color, and horses.

My favorites are the red and blue banner cavalry.

Again, gorgeous work. I'm glad you were impatient!

No big secret; a "0" or "00"-sized brush and a steady hand. Also helps to rince your brush often when your're working on fine detail since you want your brush tip to be as sharp as possible.

Again, thanks for your great comments guys, I'm honored!

I must admit I love some of the work you guys are doing. My own painting skills are absolutely attrocious though, but maybe one days I'll scrape together the funds to outsource the work. In the meantime keep the pics coming please as they all help with ideas for schemes.

nice one how long you painting at this miniatures?

Roughly 185 documented hours so far. Although I'm no professional and I wasn't in any rush to finish either; painting the miniatures is my way of relaxing once the wife and kids are gone to bed.

Unbelievably cool! You've upped the ante IMHO.

Nicely done!

How many of the man-hours were spent reshapping bent plastic? gui%C3%B1o.gif

Actually, I didn't even count the time it took to wash, unbend, and prime the miniatures, but it's not too much of a hassle; I'd say it took about an hour to fix the bendies, soap & rinse and about an extra hour to prime 'em. Thank goodness for spray-on primer happy.gif
