You may spend resource tokens on this card to pay for tactics.
Forced: When an opponent plays a tactic, put a resource here.
Given that forced effects are resolved before action chain, consider this scenario. My opponent play a tactictic when my saphery waystone have one resource token on it. The forced effect immediately resolve here and my saph waystone now have two resources. Does this end the action chain or I am actually allowed to use the newly gained resource along with the preexisting resource to follow up on the action chain and therefore play a 2 cost tactic like High Elf's Disdain?

I was going to post a similar question; as a general rule, does a forced effect triggered by something that occurs due to an action interrupt the specific action? I never assumed the forced effect ends the action chain, but it is a good question.

I just went through the FAQ and didn't see any specific mention of what happens when forced effects trigger during an action or an action chain. I did see one FAQ item that asked specifically about the interaction between two cards in which this occurs. The answer was that the forced effect "interrupts" (FFG's wording) the action. The question, then, is if forced effect always interrupt actions or affect the action chain, or in just some cases.

The scenario I had in mind was this:

I have a Dwarf Ranger in my Quest Zone, a Grudge Bearer and Zhufbar Engineers in my Kingdom Zone. My opponent attacks and I play Honor In Death, taking its action and sacrificing Zhufbar Engineers to destroy an attacking unit. When I sacrifice the Engineers, it triggers the forced effects of both the Grudge Bearer and Dwarf Ranger as well as its own forced effect. Do those forced effects trigger after the attacking unit is destroyed, or do they interrupt the action on Honor In Death after the Engineers are sacrificed and before the attacking unit is destroyed? Can my opponent respond to Honor in Death? If so, when? Do the forced effects prevent either my opponent or myself from adding actions to the action chain?

Seems like this is quite a general trouble eh? In end I went through the "Detailed Timing Structure" of Page 16 of FAQ again and the answer probably lay (almost hidden) in there.

Accordingly,

2. Players have the opportunity to play actions (starting with the player who has priority, these will either start a new chain or be added to an existing chain if any Triggered Actions were triggered during B-1)

-Choose targets, then pay all costs. If this triggers a Constant or Forced Effect(s), [Go to A ]

-This continues until both players have passed consecutively

Since they listed the resolving of forced effect as a subset of action chain and that it continues until both players have passed consecutively, I would believe that resolving forced effect interrupts but do not terminate the current chain of action.

In my case, i think i am entitled to use the newly gained resource on saphery waystone to play tactic in response to the current action chain.

In your case, since you are the active player, the moment you pay the sacrificial cost of Honor in death, the forced effects are triggered and you get to decide their sequence since they all trigger at the same moment and are under the forced key word. Your opponent can then respond to effect of Honor in death as the action chain continues, but only after all your forced effect have been resolved.

Above is just my interpretation, of course. Your thoughts?

Yes, Forced effects create a sub-window where forced effetcs are resolved and then the action chain goes on. So you can use the new resources.

Nice find! Thanks!
