Think there could ever be an options for a ground expansion?
Might be interesting to have AT-ATs, AT-STs, other types of ground tanks combined with Snowspeeders, even X-Wings or TIEs in the atmosphere…

Hmmm…maybe? The snowspeeder really lacks firepower though. Would you try to simulat bringing the tanks down with the tow cable? (And if so, how?) Or would you just ignore that and let them just shoot at the tanks (say Attack 2 vs Agility 1)? I think the problem would be that the game is supposed to be fast paced and introducing slow moving tanks eliminates that a bit. Also, it would get pretty old if every turn was just "So my AT-AT moves 1 forward because its only options are 1 green forward or 1 red bank left/right"). So as an official FFG expansion? It seems doubtful. As a very interesting fan rules variant to be played with large groups? Sounds fun!
Although now that I say that…It could be very interesting if the AT-ATs could really only move forward but their actions were taken to determine their firing arc. So for example during the Action Phase the player chooses what arc their AT-AT is going to focus on out of 3 different possible 60 degree arc options across the forward facing 180 degrees and then during combat they can only fire at ships within that chosen arc.
That's a cool idea, I like that!
Maybe the tow cable effect could be like an Ion cannon or something, where you put a token on the AT-AT and it affects it, then affects it further later.
Maybe you'd have to fire it at range 1, and it has a low chance of working at all but if it does work, then it immobilizes the AT-AT on the next turn, and does damage to it over a couple of successive turns?
Not sure what the balance would have to be if it actually destroyed the AT-AT for sure, versus just doing damage to it.
I don't know. I would guess that the Snowspeeder actually has very high firepower, but the AT-ATs have even more enormous armor. After all, those were some pretty BFGs on the sides.
If they went ground game, this might be the area that the clone wars could shine in as there were more ground based vehicles (so more variety). Yes AT-AT would be king of this domain from the OT, but it sure would be broken with all of that heavy armor… bring on the ewok glider!
*you may crucify me now.

I have to admit when I started to think about ground, I guess I came up with AT-AT, AT-ST (and it occurs to me now there are Speederbikes, but that might be too small to worry about).
Then all those cool rolling and walking tanks from clone wars came to mind. I know we didn't see them on screen in Episodes IV - VI but maybe they're still around somewhere in an army surplus hangar?
