beating the unbeatable- dech tech

By shak-auspride, in Gummi Garage

OK so I'm running a Dark WR, which I already know is just asking to be beaten anyway, but I was wondering if anyone out there in the wider community had any possible theory on how to get one off your lovely world?

I have no idea how to combat this problem... and it is a grand problem.

Also, any other seemingly rough cards people need strategy for, feel free to post in this thread. =]

You could run all low level worlds and hope your opponent doesn't have something they can stall you with.

if you're talking about Stealth Sneak, Dark World Racers die a little inside when anyone plays him on their world, your only option is escape.

Let's look at what the dark deck has going for it, mystery (hell it's new), raw power of the swarm :) lots of lvl 1s and 2s baby. Can stall world racers early through late game no problemo (well maybe problemo still). Let's see what a dark (world racer?) can't deal with. Assuming your opponent has friends out that any deck will now definately run. These are phil, and arguably another card that I won't name for fear my tech will be stolen :)

Ok. You can't kill invisible if you are ansem or can't play attack cards. You can't kill gargoyle. You can't kill stealth sneak. hmmmm... So a player that uses a) stealth sneak or b) invisible plus sea neon (or sebastien) and phil or c) phil and gargoyle. All of these = you must escape.

What's the benfit of knowing this... Well, everyone going to be running at least a few of these heartless to tech against a dark deck. hmmm.... what the benefit of knowing this? Well it means that you can play agro against a light character and be like - snap your dark card draws are useless :) OR, it means you can bring your tissues to a game if you play a dark world racer so you don't have to excuse yourself to get them later on... I mean, you will escape. What's wrong wtih escape? Well it is hard enough to play dark cards... i.e. getting from lvl 1 to 4 is a pain in the (expletive). So when you escape and start over, it is not so cool.

Now, winning consistently with a dark world racer means to me. play with 3 curas and play lots of life gain magic and early before phil get's out. then escape plenty and play plenty of worlds, low lvl worlds. you would also always play with low level heartless, and fatty with +6/7 support is your god. Still, I haven't tried it and a world racer going against you might beat you out if your dark cards aren't selective enough to stop him before you get 10+7 escape = 17 turns :) An agro could beat you if he can outsupport and kill you good while locking your draw down. Expect to draw 3 cards only, after say turn 3 or so.

hmmm. this is difficult typing - i.e. dark decks are limited to building very well refined agro decks ONLY. Maybe FFG should have been nice and put, "this character does not win if his or her world count is 13+" in order to make it any more clear to you and have you focus your efforts on something that is difficult but still viable.

there are other ways to cripple dark deck , Shak, the best advice to give to you is run Dark riku, run attacks and magic and good low level heartless and hope to stomp through everything while escaping every now and again.

best way to cripple ansem = WIZARD lol j/k, though he does do a number on the playability of magic when he's your friend.

Wizzard, Sea Neon, and Villain or two = who can smack the crap out of the other person quickest. LOL.

When it comes to running dark decks at the moment, as much as I love that Ansem has that little bit extra omph, Riku seems the better way to go since he does have access to attacks and magic, where Ansem is limiter to his magic. Mind you, as I mentioned, if the battle comes down to dark vs dark, Ansem might just have the upper hand on Riku if played correctly.

Now as for against light decks, that is a disaster waiting to happen at the moment. I am sure that they will release heartless later on that have similar abilities that friends do. Bounce a heartless, or discard one.

OK everyone thanks for your help with that one, so basically I am in no way able to get a sneak off my world unless I flee... sounds like fun [/sarcasm]

Ohwell, time to add more worlds I guess...

YAY!!! Finally =p

Oh yes, I also think you can limit your deck size to around 40 so that if you have to escape a lot (in case of invisible, stealth sneak, etc) then you can cycle through your deck a lot faster!

Hope this helps!
