So I have a core set, an A-Wing and an Interceptor, and two friends came around tonight so we had a couple of games that I wanted to share, mostly because of how successful I was haha
Because there was three of us, we played rebels being controlled by two players, Imperials one.
For the first game, I took Imperials and friends each took the X-Wing and A-Wing. For the first game it was Luke Skywalker w/ R2D2 & Arvel Crynyd w/ Concussion Missiles vs Soontir Fel w/ Push The Limit, Mauler Mithel, and an Obsidian Pilot.
Game started well for me, managing to wipe out Arvel with only taking two hits on the Obsidian.
At this point I was very confident since despite having only one hull point left on my Obsidian pilot, it was now 3 vs 1, with Luke down to two hull, and one shield that R2 had recovered.
It only took two more rounds for Soontir to take advantage of Push The Limit to swing in behind Luke and hit him 4 times from a range one shot, of which only one was saved; just enough to finish him off and ensure Imperial total domination.
For the second game we swapped it up a bit, with me taking the A-Wing, the friend who previously controlled the X-Wing taking the Imperials, and the friend who previously controlled the A taking the X.
This time it was Tycho w/ Push The Limit & Red Squadron Pilot w/ Proton Torpedos & R2D2 vs Turr Phenir w/ Marksmanship, Mauler Mithel, and Night Beast.
I wanted to even out the numbers so right in I went full speed ahead, using Push The Limit to both boost and target lock onto Night Beast at Range 1 (our table is reasonably small), managing to take him out and even the numbers right away.
The next couple of rounds were uneventful until I managed to use the same Boost/Target Lock trick to get head on with Mauler at Range 1 and take him out before he could return fire with 4 shots.
So now it was just Phenir with full hull points vs Tycho and the Red Squadron pilot, both having lost just one shield.
While he was distracted with trying to keep the Red Squadron pilot from using Torpedos, I managed to come in from the side and use Push The Limit for both a target lock and focus at Range 1 and proceeded to wipe him out in a single shot.
So on the whole it was a very successful night, having two games and winning both without a single loss.
