Other World Question in relation to Final Battle

By Vanno, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

In the Mythos Phase, when a new gate is open and this brings the total number of gates beyond the max, it triggers the final battle with the Ancient One.

My question: if there was an investigator in that location where the gate was opened, he is moved to the Other Worls as usual OR can he stay in his location to fight the Ancient One?

Any insight folks? Cheers!

Sylvain

Here is the rule:

"When th Ancient One awakens, any investigators that are los5t in timae and space are immediatly devoured and eliminated from the game. The surviving investigators must face The Ancient One"-This means if investigator is not in lost in time in space loctation in the moment of GOO awakening he will immediatly proceed to Final battle

Forgot to mention:during final battle all investigators are count as being in the same area

Well, when any condition triggers the AO's awakening, you immediately stop doing anything. You don't even complete the current turn.

However, it doesn't matter where investigators have been once final combat starts. They are on longer affected by their surroundings in any way. They are simply assumed to be all together in the same (but undefined) location.

Also, it's not beyond the max, it is at the max number of gates.

In a 3- or 4- player game, if there are 7 gates open, you go to final battle.

Don't forget that the doom track is completely filled before battle, no matter where it was when the AO awoke.

Thanks folks for the clarification.

We had a game last night and we draw Hastur. 8 clues to close a gate instead of 5 - you gotta be kidding!...
