My wife decided to adopt the R5 Unit from the junkyard and i happily made a npc sheet for it:

still wip, I haven't decided what equipment the litte guy has and if/what weapon he's got. Atm Im thinking a taser, the red dice stands for his general bad motivator, not sure if I keep that but I like it atm. " - " Rank are damaged/broken and connot get leveled up.

and the empty sheet:

Hah! This is awesome. My group did the same thing, only cuz my bloodthirsty character ended up blasting his owner, and our droid was sympathetic toward the little guy. We're even using the parts you find on the Fang to spruce him up.

What's with the challenge dice in the dice pool? That isn't right since the pools should just be Green and Yellow dice (Ability and Proficiency respectively).

In our game the storeowner offended the wookie and got shred because of it and the mechanic adopted the terrifierd R5 afterwards. But I love the Idea with the parts from the fang. I think I'll give them 7-8 choices and 3-4 Slots in the droid and they'll have to decide.

Who says that? Also: It's my game, so screw that guy ;) It represents damaged parts in the droid and, mostly, his bad motivator.

So he is

a. Not as capable as he should be

b. There are no yellow dice in the pool so there is always a looming despair if the chars use these skills on him.

A) OK

B) Despair and Triumph don't cancel each other out. Successes are cancelled by Failures. Advantages by Threat. The only cancellation is the Success part of the Triumph is cancelled by the Failure part of the Despair, but the rest of those two abilities remain.

Ok, good point. But, still, these checks should never be able to create Triumphs

I like the initative you've taken and my game actually had a medical droid with a similar condition. However the ADDITION of challenge dice is not going to bode well for figuring out skill difficulties. Perhaps instead any time the R5 uses those affected skills the check should have 1 difficulty die upgraded instead. Just no quick/easy way to put that down neatly on the character sheet.
