Is FFG answering doubts?

By Atrok, in X-Wing

Hi all,

First of all, I do not intend to initiate a flame for critics against FFG. This is just a plain doubt I've about the support FFG is giving on rules questions. The reason for this doubt comes along with my next paragraph.

I'm a Spanish user. So I don't usually visit FFG forums, as they are not our local distributor. For what I've seen in your forums, we all share some questions unanswered in the FAQs. In Spain, the distributor is not giving official answers, but usually in FFG games they distribute, they mostly follow their trail by translating FAQs (at best).

Although I've seen the FAQ has been recently updated, it doesn't resolve doubts related to the second wave, and my question is, if I contact FFG with those doubts (via forum or however), will I obtain an answer?

Regards

All I can say is that I've sent FFG a question about 2 weeks ago, and haven't gotten an answer. To be fair, there are good chances that it has been asked before, it was about a limit case that might not come often on a real table, but can still happen. I still hold hope it'll make it through for their next FAQ.

I've got a question that was submitted around six weeks ago, with no response yet.

Honestly, this is pretty much FFG's standard way of doing business. They aren't terribly responsive to rules concerns with their games, and certainly don't tend to actively involve themselves with players on an interactive level. The FAQ update when Wave 2 hit was so thin as to be insulting - there were plenty of issues which would qualify as "frequent questions" surrounding the Wave 2 ships and upgrades (Stealth Device, anyone?) that were completely bypassed and overlooked.

It is what it is.

You might try emailing the Organized Play team? Since TO's will need to know the answer to these questions, they might be in a position to find out answers.

Ok, so it seems we're all in the same situation, no matter the language. Thank you for your answers!

I am not sure how long it took, but it was considerably more than 4 weeks.

However I did get an answer and then went on and posted it to the discussion threads I had started about them.

So my experience: You will get an answer … eventually.

Can't comment on rules questions, but very happy with their customer service right now. Last time I played I noticed the top bit of one of my pegs was bent, so A-Wing was at 45 degree angle, emailed them to ask about a replacement late Tuesday night, and woke up this morning (Thursday over here) and had received an email to say it had been shipped. Very surprised to get it shipped all the way to Australia with no questions asked, and such a quick response.
