Had a bad thought the other day, which was as follows; could it be viable to run two firesprays, one with the Ion Canon and the other with the HLC? My logic is that the Ion Canon would help prevent other ships from moving outside of the HLC range. The downside is that there is probably zero room for any other fighters.

If you're going with two take two HLC and you will destroy most ships faster if you focus on one ship at a time.

Could be a good option. 2 heavy laser cannon + gunners may look like a good option but remember you can leave everythig to dice throws…Use target locks and marksmanship to maximise effect.
