With the 4th editon reclassification of poltergeist as a follower can the poltergeist be mesmerized? and if it can be. The poltergeist wont cross water you wouldnt be able to mesmerize it if you were in the middle region and they were in the outer region or because of the two little rivers in the outer region you would have to be on the same side of the little rivers to cast it. Or does that add to many questions and variants that the poltergeist shouldnt be allowed to be mesmerized.

Yes you can cast the Mesmerism Spell on the character with the Poltergeist.

The Poltergeist only leaves a character when he crosses the Storm River by moving 1 space for his turn. This does not include being teleported by the Imp or the Magical Portal.
