Editable Character Sheets

By Kallabecca, in Only War

For those who don't like writing all over their sheets, I've taken the two basic sheets (the high-res and low-res character sheets) and made them form fillable from within Adobe Reader (the free program for reading PDFs). I looked into doing the Only War squad sheets, but since they were tilted I couldn't align the form elements to them (requires the fields to either go straight across or straight up/down, can't do arbitrary angles). Enjoy.

Thanks for sharing :)

A couple of suggestions.

Make the long line under Demeanour and description editable. I normally add my apptitudes there as a reminder.

Also the edit area for movement, fate points, wounds, ins and corruption all seem a bit too much to the left so when you enter a digit it's not clearly readable. The bit later for XP and psychic power both work really well.

Other than that it looks good. Would it be possible to get a copy without any of the background icons etc so it's less uselss inc when printing?

I updated the fields. Turns out they were set to 12 point font rather than Auto.

I can try and remove parts of the background. Unfortunately my starting point with the sheets is basically a single image rather than a multi-layered file. So it isn't as simple as turning off a visible layer.

if anyone's interested i've been through an image and edited it with some more gear room and some boxes for carry weight. I had to do the edits in photoshop but seems to work okay

Makes sense you'd have to make the changes in photoshop since FFG didn't provide a layered PDF which would have allowed for editing of some of the elements using something like Illustrator.

The nice thing is, Acrobat Pro can start from an image and make a PDF. Which is basically what I do. Take sheets that I like and make them functional. If you'd like, I could probably do something similar with your sheet.

Unfortunately I'm waiting on a new system before I install my copies of Adobe's Suite of products (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, etc…) to continue learning. I lost access when I left school, heheh.

So, took the PDF apart in Illustrator and found that the background elements are all over the page. If you look closely the page is a slight tan that is water-spotted with plates and rivet marks. I've tried to get rid of some of the things, like the watermarked background, but it looks like crap when done.

Could we get a version that has the pips under the characteristics fillable? I usually use those to mark how many times I've increased a characteristic.
