Is it true that there was a map reprint since 2005?
If so, is the reprint better than the original?
Someone tells me the new one is tan and the older one was green, Any clue?
Thanks

Personally much prefer the new, as it goes better together with the Dunwich Horror board (color schemewise).
Wow, I didn't realize we've owned the game for that long! I like the artwork on the old - it makes me happy every time I set it up, all dark and brooding.... I cannot see the detail on the new one really well from the photo....

Not big on zooming
? BGG has 34 pages of AH (just under base game) pictures, you'll find more comparisons if you really want there.
Why did they change the map? From the pictures posted I think I enjoy the old one better!
While the old board did look like a town and not like a map of a town, the new map:
-Blends in with the expansion boards
-Is far more legible
On a personal note, I don't like colored drop shadows and glow effects, and you'll notice that on the old map the streets have those effects.
Thanks guys,
I also found out that the revised version got updated cards that an be found in the first big expension and that the rules were updated.
So i guess i'll go ahead with the trade, it's seems the difference isn't huge.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the 2nd edition boards match the expansions because the expansions were designed to match the 2nd edition board.
I liked the original board because I finally realized what the board was depicting. When I first bought this game (2nd edition), I knew nothing about Lovecraft and was even more clueless as to what the "background" on the board meant.
What is did not like about the old board was the text boxes of locations being the main colors. So if I could have a combo between the old board town and the new board locations, I would be happy.

Agree 100%. I love the color of the old board itself, but the text boxes should have been like the second printing. Also, it seems that the old board doesn't stay as flat on the table. No problem when unfolding the new board. No idea if this can be fixed.
And yes some cards where updated, but these new cards are included in the Dunwich Horror expansion. (although the updated cards are still different from the 2nd printing).
Personally I prefer the original board more - I think it is far more atmospheric. I've never had any problems with the board staying flat on the table.
If there is one criticism I have for both boards is that they are too big. A four-panel board should be made available that takes up less space on the table and allows the other expansions to fit in easier. If FFG made such a board available I'd definitely buy one.
I know of two smaller boards that have been designed by other players. They can be found on BGG ...
Reclaim your table with this smaller game board
I really like the first one - I'm going to try and make a copy for my copy of Arkham Horror.
Any clues whether or not the board would get another reprint, this time with aquatic locations built-in?

Once again my nemesis, you are incorrect :') and I'm not just saying this to disagree with you.
The new color scheme is horrible. I like Arkham dark and broody. Why did the board become Sunny and Clear all of a sudden? Ugh. Elder things don't like pastels!

Doubtful but who knows. What I would like to see, however, is little cling-ons or stickers like they used in Starfarers of Catan 5-6 plyer expansion to change the board. They were semi-permanent (they would stick forever if you left them alone but could be removed easy enough if you really wanted to remove them). It would have been much better than the tokens we received in KH.

:') I never use the KH tokens, I just don't tell people about the locations ;') I mean, seriously, how often do aquatic monsters pop up there?
I like the REVISED edition, my wife likes the ORIGINAL better.
I think that if FFG would have not made the tan/ orange of the REVISED edition so pronounced, making the background more immediately recognizable than what it is, it would've have been perfect.
