re-animated and cards you could normally play

By madeofwin, in UFS Rules Q & A

Reanimated reads "E add 1 card from your staging area to your hand:add 1 difficulty x or less foundation or asset that you could normally play from your hand to your staging area. x equals the difficulty of the card added to your hand as part of this abilites cost "

my question regards the "you could normally play" part, i take this to mean i have to put into play a card i can legally play with viktor eg i cant drop a copy of chesters backing as i dont match any symbols to it. are there any other restrictions to this beyond actually having the right symbols on the character and foundation/asset? i only ask as i was looking at another viktor deck in the deck building forum and people were making out that the card you add has to chain with whatever is in your card pool, is this right? if so it makes little sense as the card is going nowhere near your card pool to cause issues with chaining.

cheers in advance

If you have cards in your card pool you have to follow resource restrictions and you cant put in play a card that has no resource on your character.

How's it make little sense? To meet the condition of "could normally play", you'd have to be able to play the card, which would include the card pool's resource chain. You can't just ignore that restriction when it's convenient to do so.

okay, makes mentally unstable looping lunar slash a little harder but i'm sure i can figure something out.

cheers muchly
