PTL timing

By jetsetter, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Quick question…so my pilot (PS4) has PTL, not stressed…he does his action (focus--just because), then the opponent say PS5+ moves, takes his action of focus. So this concludes the activation phase, before combat, can I PTL to boost or barrel roll (to get out of his arc or to get a better range measurement).

Just asking because the text on PTL states "once per round".

Or would this break the game mechanics for PTL?

You can't do that. Because you can only apply the second action, right after you do your first action.

You can't do that.

This is correct. Push the Limits says after you perform an action, so you can only use it right after you perform an action.

You can however use PtL after you perform any action, including free one's.

I'm a little surprised that a question from 2013 has popped up unanswered until now. Wholly necro-thread, Batman!

We can only hope he hasn't been playing the way he suggests since 2013!

It is just as relavent now as it was then although the OP probably will miss the answer. It could have been a double post as well.
