Hi,
I am a Tannhäuser Newbie - so this question might be stupid: are the characteres supposed to have ONE grenade or do they have a set of grenades.
So do I discard the grenades after usage?
Bests,

You discard them.
(page 22) says:
".... and discard the Granade from Character Sheet"
Would be too powerfulto have multiple granades
Yoshi is correct. However, it should be noted that a character may carry more than one Grenade (I.E. stacking Tokens) if the character is given, picks up or finds extra Grenade Tokens.
Yep, they can stack weapons (of the same "sort/type"). Still how do you play it when a trooper carring a granade dies... do you respawn him? (What when he dropped the disposable equipment - like his granade - when dying).
I ment "do you respawn him with full equipment?" - that is with the dropped stuff and used granade? (It's pretty strong to get a tropper use his granade 3 times per game (1st time normally and then 2 more when respawning - easy mode - more fun).
well, i'd say he gets his grenade back - even though it is powerful
Yes, the Trooper returns as a Reinforcement with all Tokens slots filled . So, if you choose to arm the returning Troopers in Easy Mode with a Grenade both times that is a perfectly legitimate option.
See Page 14 of the instructions, Section V, Part A, Subsection 2 and note the bright red text ...
This can lead to problems, when you take the same Pack Twice running and key equipment is out on the bord somewhere, stuff like Grenades is easy enough, just find matching Equipment from the Crate Tokens or an other Character (idealy a Hero that woun't Reinforce) that isn't in use at the time.
The easy solution is to buy 2 or more sets of Tannhauser.
That or copy the tokens or write on a slip of paper.
This is not the end of the world, but they should have provided extra tokens.
And they will likily come with the Troops Pack, only by then we'll need them for our new Game peaces.

This has become the major recurring problem with the Tannhäuser line. Many pieces are missing or simply ignored. Playtesting the parts ToY intends to include in the box would nip this in the bud immediately and most of the errors are as simple as that to catch! The person who writes the rules and the person who designs the contents to be printed never seem to communicate.
It has happened again with the most recent ToY release Daedalus:
• One of the Daedalus Scenarios calls for 5 Relic Token s and the Spectral Minotaur Token to be shuffled face down and placed randomly around the board. Fine except that the Spectral Minotaur Token has a Minotaur on the back, not the Scenario required Relic back!
• On page 19, the Daedalus rulebook shows an example of the Explosive Token with a black circle . Except that the Explosive Token actually has a black and yellow Disposable Equipment circle.
Seems to be a very bad case of not having a proof reader of competent ability and understanding of the game ....

Well that won't solve the problem because if you are using 2 Alphas then you will need 2 additional sets of tokens! The Troops really need 2 or 3 sets of tokens each to fully resolve the problem.
If the Troops come with extra tokens then this will help...
May Happs some one with a mastary of the Frankish Toung should drop a line to ToY on this matter since it looks like the Troops Pack hasn't reached it's final form yet.
Perhaps it's time for a Foread Slap (Why didn't we tjhinc of that) moment, where one of the minor problems with the game can be fixed.

Don't need to speak french over at the forums. I go over there every now and then. Quite a few of the member speak English. And Ben who works for ToY speaks Englsih, I think he deals with sales for the company.
not too sure.

Why, was he speaking in French?
Well you can home-make the tokens.
1st scan them all at once.
2nd print them on a sticking paper (the one that has glue on one side and is printable on the other).
3rd buy a 1/2mm plexi board and cut the tokens - you can use a metal pipe (sharpen the interior edges on one of it's side) and when you put the sarpened side to the plexi board hit the other pipe side with a hammer - that should but the plexi.
4th cut the printed tokens and glue them to the new tokens.
You can use cardboard instead of plexi but that will be harder to cut properly into perfect round shapes.
If zou do so then zou might add a 2nd Alpha tropper without having to buy a second Tannhauser.
