Im pretty sure that the answer is in plain sight and Im blind, but anyways:
Does a group of three Stormtroops shoot three times / attack three times or just one time/attack?
thx

They way I did it was Action/manuver 3 times. So that each member of the group went once. I also had them go all at one time just to save time.
The group makes a single action, as a group. It acts like one creature. That creature gets more powerful with more individuals.
So one stormtrooper minion rolls three green dice for its attack. Two of them still make a single attack, but now they roll one yellow and two green. Three roll two yellow and a green, and four roll three yellow.
When taking damage, it's a similar story. It's treated as a single creature with a lot of health. Four Stormtroopers have 20 wounds and 5 Soak. When that group takes five wounds, it loses an individual (which starts making its dice pool worse). So if you can do 25 damage in a single attack (gotta beat that Soak, congratulations, you just killed four stormtroopers.
The GM can split the minions into groups as he likes. 12 stormtroopers would probably works best in groups of three or four, but as far as I know, it's his prerogative.
in regards to the beginner game the storm troopers are much weaker than one would expect. these were tuned down for beginners to the game where they should actualy be much tougher to kill.
