Looks like we have to wait a little longer. Ah well, what are ya gonna do eh? Still looking forward to it.
A Slight Delay
It's a bit of a bummer to be sure. But hopefully the delay is something initiated by the development team (fiddling, qc, etc) instead of issues with printers and other out-of-control items.
Lame, but not that much of a wait. As things were going, it was looking like late May at best.
I am totally fine with it, if, at the end, I will get a truly awesome old-school Star Wars experience. I'm keeping my fingers crossed…

Pout. In my corner. With my dice. Stop laughing.
Bummer, Poo, Dammit, Bugger, Bugger, Bugger, Dang and Fizzle Sticks.
I, for one, am truly and totally pissed by this. No grudge against FFG (who certainly would have liked to sell me a copy as early as possible…), but I had a campaign waiting for this, ferchrissake. Now I'll have to rely on the beta until July, and that's a whole 3 other months.
Bummed out.
A little disappointed, but since I've run out of money for the time being it maybe for the best. Plus the release date was so vague that if they hadn't said anything I probably wouldn't have noticed.
Certainly still looking forward to what the end product will look like.

The delay could very well be something that's beyond FFG's ability to control. If there was a major snafu at the printer that caused the majority of the EotE books to have a major issue (like really weak binding or missing a bunch of pages), it's better that FFG delay the release so that the issue can be addressed, corrected, and thus better assurance that the customer (us) gets a product of the quality that FFG is generally known for.
Or if their printer is overseas (I think most RPG/gaming companies use overseas printers these days), it could be a tangle in shipping that's caused the delay, again not something FFG has direct control over.
Delays with Star Wars RPG products ain't nothing new though. What Rodney and WotC had planned as the first sourcebook for their brand new Star Wars Saga Edition line, The Force Unleashed Campaign Guide, wound up getting pushed back almost a full year because LucasArts couldn't get their crap together to release the video game of the same name, which was the keystone of a Lucasfilm-planned multimedia event. The only reason the Force Unleashed mini set got released was that the product was already sitting in WotC's warehouses ready for the originally planned event date when word came down of the delay.
Does kinda stink for their May the Fourth weekend expo/event, as I'm sure FFG was planning on having EotE corebooks for sale at that time. So to anyone thinking of getting all bent out of shape (and this isn't being addressed to anyone specific), remember that FFG is suffering too, as they're losing a prime opportunity to generate some big sales of one of their most anticapated RPG products of the year.
Boooooo
Really looking forward to this game finally being released.
They really do go out of their way to avoid saying what caused the delay, so further supposition is probably a waste of time.
However, I think that a roughly 2-month delay is not all that bad, given that some events could have caused something far worse.
I'm looking forward to the game (and using LEGO figures as miniatures)!
Was hoping for May. July is a bit of a wait I wonder what FFG is going to do to keep the exitement up I would like to see at least one more free adventure for the begginer game
Communication! I love it!
Hats off to FFG for coming in here and giving us the straight news, and a firm release date (well, week, but you see what I mean).
I mean, look at it this way: technically, they could have waited 'til the last week of June to give us this announcement, right?
Rock on, FFG. Make us a great book.
Yeah, I appreciate the communication, even if it isn't the news I wanted to hear (that the book is shipping now would have been ideal… )
I wonder if this has anything to do with Disney shutting down development at LucasArts…

That definitely looks to be a bit of a potential for change… hopefully, it also means being able to get PDF editions.
I doubt that has anything to do with it.
For those of you new to FFG…there are often release delays. That's why they do quarter relase date quotes at best.
Heck, Relic was supposed to be out Q3 of 2012 and it just showed up two weeks ago. A couple months is a minor hiccup in an FFG release schedule.
For all we know this could be a good thing. Maybe with the changes in LucasArts FFG may get the chance to release pdfs. It may be that some legal wrangling may need to take place that might be hindered if the games is released. Only time will tell.
"A Slight Delay" with the artwork from the article would make a GREAT Star Wars LCG card.
It would probably be a Dark Side Tactics/Event card that would enable you to "Focus" your opponent until July.
Definitely not ideal, but not the end of the world, either. Thank god for the beginner set (for the dice and a decent two-part adventure). I think between the beginner set and what's posted online you can generate some characters and run some basic adventures. I really hope they release something new online between now and then. Even Crate of Krytes which I've heard about from the Beta and will not be in the core book would be nice for those who don't already have it.
Not much I can do, and no point in complaining, at least more definitive date even if a little later then expected
Sounds like an issue with printers. Turn around time from most is probably at least a few months (especially since a lot of them are overseas and shipping via cargo container is not exactly fast, but is a lot cheaper than via the cargohold of an aircraft). So, if the book has been moved out by 2 months (since the prediction and advertisement suggested late April, early May release) means that the book was already finalized and sent for printing several months ago (which would coincide with the ending of the Beta, the release of the Beginners Box, etc…).
Not only pdfs but the potential for official character generators and other Edge of the Empire GM software! I;'ve been looking forward to this day a long time.

I am not sure what you are talking about. Did they announce a PDF for the game?

No not at all. Its just speculation on why there might be a delay.
This is truely sad news. . . But, maybe this will give them a chance to make it up to us. Like with a little peak at the first supplement they have planned.
Yep . . . Who am i kidding.
