Deceit

By tarkin84, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Deceit: Challenges: Choose 2 characters controlled by 2 different players. Until the end of the phase, the character of your choice loses all keywords and the other characters gains each of those lost keywords. Response: After you lose a challenge as the attacker, choose and stand a participating character.

Situation: I have a 'No attachments' character out and my opponent has a tricon Targaryen character with Aegon's blade (which grants renown and stealth). I play deceit and choose these two characters. What keywords will have my character?

Thank you in advance!

Your character can either have no keywords at all (because you choose for it to lose its "No Attachments," which the Targ character then gains - discarding his Aegon's Blade), or it can have "No attachments," Stealth, and Renown (because you chose for the Targ character to lose them, which your character then gained).

Or, are you asking whether the "No attachments" somehow stops your character from gaining Stealth and Renown from Deceit when they were only there for the Targ character to lose because it gained them from the attachment? If so, you might be over-thinking things. Your character gains the keywords from event (Deceit), not from the Targ character, or the attachment. Neither your character nor Deceit has any interaction with the attachment, so your character's "No attachments" doesn't enter into the keywords your character can gain or lose from the event.

Thanks ktom. I am plainly stupid: I missread the card like four times and was under the impression that the keywords swapped from one to another.

P.S.: Just for my curiosity: if that was the case, what would happen?
