I bit the bullet and decided to repaint my Slave I ship from scratch (stripped the paint off, quite an ordeal with the larger ships!)
I tried to match it to the Jango Fett version, but the blue may be too dark…

What paint are you using and how/with what do you strip?

Thanks all. I used Citadel Paints (from GW), and the only thing I could find in the UK to strip the paint well was a supermarket product called Dettol (a thick brown antiseptic wash that stinks pretty bad!)

In North America, I would suggest Simple Green for stripping. It's very gentle, especially with a soft bristle toothbrush. Also, maybe just spray prime over the original paint?

Eventually, I'm going to get a second Slave-I to pillage the base for Lord Maul's Sith Infiltrator. The ship, I'm gonna repaint however I bloody well please! Just a Firespray. But I think I'm going to just mask the lovely canopy and then gently overpaint without any stripping. We'll see how it goes.
