Do you plan on purchasing the GM screen? Im thinking I should wait till all three of the core rule books are out to give FF a chance to create a screen that includes all the primary tables from all three core rule books. It wouldnt surprise me if there will be an individual GM screen for each of the core rule books, which seems like abit of a cash grab. Your thoughts?
GM Screen
I have a crazy GM screen fetish, so I'm definitely getting one - even if it turns out I never play the game… I just like 'em.
I hadn't thought about them releasing a screen for each game, but I bet you're right - not only because of the pertinent info required for each game, but also because of the art on the outside. I'm okay with that, I'll buy those, too (especially since there's extra goodies in the box, as well).
When all the games are out, I'd even support a 'master screen' that tries to get the important bits of all games in there (especially if the box comes with yet more goodies). I just love them screens.
Of course, there probably aren't many here as fanatical about GM screens as I am.

That it's a business and if you think it's "greedy" you're welcome to not buy them and speak with your wallet. This attitude where businesses…who are in the business of making money…are evil for trying making money is alien to me. I'll buy all three, assuming they make them. They did the same for every WH40K game and it was fine with me.
lol greedy? yeah…cus FFG is just lighting cigars with $100s from the comfort of thier jets over Paris.
lol, to the topic, yeah I plan to buy it. I like quick glance stat stuff…Plus I think the GM kit comes with a bit more than just a screen and some stat blocks, should be some good additional info and such in it. So can't wait for it!
Sometimes I think some people just like to complain. We see novels re-released, sometimes with or without extra parts. Movies with directors cuts. Different versions of songs. It happens all the time and people pay money for it. If you don't want to then don't buy it. It is as simple as that. FFG is a company in the business of making money and if they can do it putting out different screens I say go for it. If they are making money then they will be able to put out more product which is what I want. If they are not making money then the products go away. Is that what people want?

i didnt say making money is evil, but in this situation it would be ripe for taking advantage of your customers. When the proper thing for FF to do would be, to inform their customers if there is going to be a GM screen for each core rule book, ahead of time, so we arnt taken advantage of.
I'll likely pick one up, even though I might never look at a single table on my side of the screen.
I think that the art and content help get folks in the right mindset, especially if you're running a one-off or at convention games.

If people like to blindly purchase everything a company releases, all the power to them. Im not going on the offensive here, I just prefer to be an informed consumer, dont think im asking for alot. Isnt that why these forums exist in the first place, to share information?
but who im I kidding, i will probably purchase every widget this game releases..

It seemed implied, so if not, my apologies. To be fair, there is a shocking amount of entitlement within the gaming community. Not necessarily here, but I've seen a lot of it. It would be nice to know what they're planning, but I feel it's safe to assume that the "Edge of the Empire" screen is for that game and the other lines…being released as stand-alone-yet-compatible…will each have their own. As I mentioned, they did it for every WH40K line, so it stands to reason.
If they do that they'll probably have charts and art covering each line, so I'm not sure how well a "Master Screen" would hold-up, information-wise.
Again, apologies for a percieved "attack". This game's had a LOT of undue negativity and it seems people are raw from it.

Their art does evoke the themes quite well, doesn't it?

I appreciate that! I didnt mean to come across as complainIng, i just would like to know if this is in the works…I dont have the tabletop space for 3 GM screens.
I for one love the idea that they are releasing three seperate core rule books with three seperate focuses, to me it shows the attention to detail they are putting into this RPG and that is exciting. It would just be nice to be informed on any redundancy that might take place (like mutiple GM screens)
Thanks for the feedback and Happy Easter!
Nothing wrong with asking for information, but when I see comments such as "cash grab" it is hard not to see it as a negative conotation. Since each book is supposed to be its own entity, I would say there is a good chance we may see additional GM screens. There may not be much variation between the information on them or they may be different enough to warrant getting all of them. There is also the additional gaming information that will come with them. Each core book is also going to contain the same or similar mechanics. Not everyone will come into the game with EotE. Three years from now there will be three core books and some may want a matching GM screen for their choice.
Also mustn't forget that we're talking about a (by Miniature Market prices) $12 product that isn't even necessary to play the game. If that's breaking the bank, then it's time to re-evaluate the ol' priorities.
I look at it as something akin to, say, if FFG started releasing translucent EotE dice: available for those who want them, easily ignored by those who don't. But like MouthyMerc said, more products being bought by someone = more Star Wars RPG overall!
Not to mention (if it hasn't been already) that most times a GM screen will come with an adventure!!
I'll buy it. If they put more screens out in the future I'll evaluate on a case by case basis. Perhaps I can get three screens and surround myself in a varitable fortress of GM Screeniness.

I'm picturing a cardboard cube all taped together, with a muffled voice inside it saying, "the corridor splits in two directions… would you like to go left, or right?"
