Friends and Foes preview for Labyrinth of Ruin

Why is no one discussing this yet?

I think the allies aspect is very interesting. I like how they make you choose, and how they can be taken from your heroes and convertred to the dark side by a cunning and cruel overlord :) .

I also rather like the map/quest layout from a narrative standpoint. I find it interesting that unlike the Shadow Rune, none of the Act II quests here are locked out based on player performence. I wonder if the stakes will be higher to reflect that?

Anyways, hopefully this gets some discussion going, and I'm very much looking forward to the next preview. Good to be back after a long dry spell of not posting here. Cheers!

Both of the allies and their lieutenant versions seem super useful. God help the man that stands against a corrupted Serena - if you don't come out of her attack dead, you are most assuredly cursed, diseased AND mortally wounded. Never fail to collect all of the search tokens again as Raythen starts the turn effectively immune to being attacked, and effortlessly traverses the map collecting tokens for you.

Lot of stuff to be super excited for, that much is for certain. Basic II is just what the Overlord needs to have a better reactive evolution to the heroes' growing power and equipment. Free wicked laughter? Blinding Speed to help respond to that dirty, rotten immobilize? Sign me up. Twice.

When I first started reading about the allies, I was worried. The last thing the heroes need are more attacks per turn. But after reading that the OL cna corrupt whichever ally they get, I felt better.

Biased? Me? Nooooo =P
