So I was reading over the tournament rules again on the site and noticed something interesting in them:

Uniform Range Measurement
Due to minor variations during the printing process and the exsistance of third-party products, the measurements from ruler to ruler may vary.

Does this mean that the third-party manuever templates and range rulers are now allowed for use? I read over the rules a couple of times to be sure, and it looks like they are allowed now (the templates and range ruler). Or am I thinking too much into this because of that line?

Yes, they are. Third party is mentioned in that statement. My dog ate my normal one so I'll be ordering a third-party one.

Can I just add that it's really cool and supportive of the community that they're doing this?

FFG effectively owns the copyright on those maneuver templates and they're more or less not only allowing, but encouraging folks to, well, violate that copyright by producing their own copies not just for personal use, but for sale as well.

I mean, can you imagine a world where a company like Games Workshop does that? Wow.

And I agree, it's nice. Support the game, buy the product, but if you have a nice alternative such as sticks and tokens, cool.

Right now I am working on plastic manuever dials to use. Started working on some molds to use, since I started I have had a few buddies who want some made too. And FFG doesn't list anything about the manuever dials being off limits, it should be fine for official use.
