Rules Clarification for Descent Road to Legend

By Ramael, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I had a couple of questions about Road to Legend. I have been playing Descent for a while now but this weekend will mark my first adventures into the Road to Legend expansion.

I was wondering if two players can train for the same skill. I know that in regular Descent this is not allowed as you select your starting skills via random drawing but in Road to Legend you are actually training for them.

My second question concerns dungeon levels. The way I understand it is that each dungeon level results in the overlord re-shuffling the deck and drawing three new cards. What affect does this have on cards already in play are they reshuffled into the deck and if so does this also reset the overlords threat to zero or does that carry over from one dungeon level to another.

Thank you very much for your help. This is my first post to the threads and if I posted in the wrong spot please forgive my ignorance.

1) No, only one Hero can have a given skill, so if Hero A trains in the Tiger Tattoo, no other Hero can get that skill.

2) Make sure you download and read the latest FAQ. That part is clarified, you do NOT reshuffle the deck between dungeon levels, only at the beginning of the 1st level. Basically, think of the 3 levels as one Quest in the normal game (it lasts about as long too).

Finally, I'd recommend that you read some of the strategy guides over on BGG, specifically this one: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/325622 The key to this guide is to remember that the Heroes control how much Conquest Tokens the Overlord earns . The OL, especially early in the game, really only gains CT when a Hero is killed. If the Heroes play smart, they can control this, by leaving dungeons early, etc.

Just to add to (2)

shnar is right, you shuffle the deck at the start of the first level of the dungeon and do not reshuffle until you cycle through the deck. You carry Threat, any Power cards in play and your hand over from level to level.
