My dog ate my cardboard ship piece!
my understanding is no proxies of any kind however a lot of people will be in the same sittuation given time, okay not becasue I own a dog but because its all carboard soon the powere that be will have to adress this issue. One way would be to have replacment parts available at offical tournaments on pre order via email for a small fee.
I can see its a game and they want to make movey off us but people will lose interest if they have to keep buying the same thing over and over.

Exactly, I bought four Tie Interceptors, I need to replace two tokens and the maximum number of tournament TIs I could run is 5. Even buying one replacement ship would only give me one more token, and guess what, I'd still be short 2 tokens. >.<
I do agree to your statement of no proxies, but also looking at the other part:
Official Ship Base
Official Ship Card
Official Upgrade Cards
Official Ship Model
At most, it 'might' fall under the "Base" but the cardboard isn't the base, it's something we put on it. The base would more likely be just the plastic piece with the pegs. Which then asks: why isn't the cardboard mentioned, because that has the fire-arc on it and we need that to shoot.
You might ask and see if they'll replace the parts. A friend of mine has FFG's Battlestar Galactica game, and his dog chewed up one of the small cards. He e-mailed them a picture of the card and his dog (looking contrite) and they replaced it for free.
Its worth a shot, anyway.
Although someone said your now officaly allowed to play with unoffical stuff because the wording in the tournamnet rules has change slightly but i dont know how FFG would be silly enough to allow third party stuff in.
The third party ruling is in regards to range sticks specifically due to inconsistent printing of range rulers.
Other than what I listed above, the only applicable rule to my situation would be in regards to proxies.
In any case, I made my situation aware to the company and was informed of a package being sent my way. Told them of the honest situation and apparently got a response. Neat, and thank you very much FFG.
FFG is very nice and does replace a lot of things for free (i damaged a lot of cardboard stuff from TI3, got them replaced!).
so, just ask the customer support, they are very friendly.
