Snakeskin Veil vs Enslaved

By Krathrax, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

My opponent has Dorea sand with a couple attachments and some power on her. I enlsave and gain control of the little whelp. Now, it didn't happen, but talking after the game he had said that he wished he used snakeskin veil on her so she would become immune to my effects and regain control of her.

Now my question is, would that be something that would happen? Would he regain control of her? And if so, during a sand snake mirror match, if you threw a snakeskin veil on you opponents snake, would you neuter all the attachments that are currently on it and basically make it impossible for you to hit it with your own events and plot/location effects?

Thanks

Since it doesn't specify whether it has to be attached to a character you control or that your opponent controls, just that it needs to be a sand snake, I would lean towards the scenario where he would regain control of Dorea, since your enslaved is (as referenced from the veil, not Dorea) "an opponent's non-plot card effect."

In your other scenario, I believe yes. This would be one of those unique situations where putting an attachment, normally only beneficial to you, on an opponent's character would work out in your favor… as long as it was a sand snake (or made one through one of your permanent card effects).

The point is that the "opponent" in the Veil's "immune to opponent's non-plot card effects" is the opponent of the controller of the Veil , not the opponent of the controller of the character. So yes, putting your Veil on an opponent's Sand Snake would make it immune to anything the opponent tried to do to help the Sand Snake.

And yes, when Enslaved is no longer valid (like when it is discarded, blanked, etc.), control reverts to the player the character was taken from (in most situations).

Makes perfect sense. We just weren't to sure. Thanks for the quick responces.
