Attach to a card controlled by an opponent. Targaryen cards of the attached card's type in your had gain ambush during the challenges phase.

I've attached a Dragon Egg onto one of my opponent's characters. I have a Disgruntled Mercenary in my hand. I'd like to ambush the Disgruntled Mercenary into play. In order to do this I need to spend zero influence. Is this possible ? Do I spend any of my influence at all ?

This is completely possible. I used to use this trick all the time with DM. Have a Dragon Egg on one of their characters, use 1 or all your DM's to swing on the first challenge, they go back to hand, then ambush them in for 0 cost. Since they gain Ambush while in your hand, as part of the DE text (being Targ cards matching the type that DE is attached to), and their cost is 0, then you have to pay their gold cost of 0 in influence to put them in play.
