Questions over Questions - the next Round

By Krawallburste, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

so i finished off my first campaign and was a little disappointed!

The Mage just melted through Gryvorn with 2 Attacks. (played Landrec/Runemaster and i even 1 objective Token). Well but i guess that happens.

nevertheless - some questions occured 2 me that id like to get an answer 2 =)

1) tokens treated as herofigueres give me some problems: if they are treated as hero figuers are they also treated as heroes?

if thats the case i could throw sir palamon with an ettin, overpower him with sir alric farrow, but a knight could also "defend" him, aint?

2) some tokens treated as hero figueres have a stamina of 0. does that mean, i could play words of misery, and hit cardinal koth (i believe he had 0 stamina) to do extra damage on him (since they cant suffer any more fatigue)? - are other tokens treated as herofigures ALSO vulnerable 2 fatiguedamage?

3) some question me and my group couldnt rly answer was the following situation: a hero with full stamina (fatigue up 2 his stamina cap) stands nearby a master monster cave spider and intends 2 move away from her. web now reads, that he MUST spend 1 fatigue 2 move. is this fatigue spent willently (in which case he couldnt declare the movement since he cannot suffer fatigue over his cap), or forced, in which case he would receive 1 fatiguedamage in form of a hearttoken.

ty all for ur helpfullness *krawallbuerste

*are other tokens treated as hero figuers without a staminaattribute also vulnerable 2 fatiguedamage?

I believe the short answer to your post is yes.

When you use tokens that are treated as hero figures, they are able to be affected by any hero ability, monster ability, and OL card that could be played/used on a hero. So in your case the Ettin is more than capable of throwing Palamon, twice in the same turn even. The same goes with the Knight using Defend. 99%, if not all, of the tokens that are considered heros have 0 Stamina, the same as a monster. None of the monsters, including the Lieutenants have any fatigue. So anything that would cause fatigue damage to them would cause health damage instead. In the case of Word of Misery, regardless of the amount of heart damage dealt in an attack it only deals 1 fatigue per attack. The ability of the Master Cave Spider is a requirement, if the hero moves while adjacent to the spider, the hero is required to take 1 fatigue. If the fatigue pool is full, then that damage is converted into heart damage. The hero is by all means allowed to move away with a move action, but has to suffer the damage to do so. It would be in the hero's best interest at that point to stay where it is and use his first action to attack, if it kills the spider then second action to move/rest.

Hope that helps you.

but why write stamina: 0 on some hero figures and dont do it on others - my party was like: dude, theres nothing written on it so its not intended 2 be

Yes tokens treated as hero figures are treated as heroes. Heroes are figures.

Yes, heroes (and any tokens treated like heroes) will suffer wounds if they cannot suffer fatigue as required.

The hero is allowed to move. Nothing about the spider's ability prevents him from moving. IF he chooses to move, he is then FORCED to suffer a fatigue, which gets converted to a wound in this case.

Because FFG's editing team is only human. They don't always write the stat block consistently. A token treated like a hero figure is treated like a hero for attacks, and therefore must have a valid Stamina rating. If it isn't defined in the quest, it's zero.

THANK U GUYS SO MUCH!

SRSLY - this board is really awesome =D
