Number of decks allowed?

By zogking, in Android: Netrunner Organized Play

So I'm thinking of entering a tournament and I've read the rules for it in which it states that you must submit a deck list and that your not allowed to make any changes from it once in the tournament. Does this mean your resisticted to those two decks (one runner, one corperation) or if you submit your deck list with a number of different runner and corperation decks you can then change deck after a match to suit the next situtation? Im confident I could build something which has a bit of everything in it but it strikes me that being resticted to the one deck weakens the stragetic element of building decks.

Thank you

Only one deck for each side, so one Corp and one Runner. There's nothing really new or revolutionary about this approach with organized play of a game with a very distinguished "good guy" vs "bad guy" engine. See also Star Wars LCG and the Star Wars CCG from the '90's.

Yes, the competitive philosophy is that you have to build a smartly designed deck to handle all comers. Even if they let you sideboard in another deck, what good would that do you when your opponent's deck is still going to be unknown to you? If both decks were really narrow to either win big or lose big, you're still at the mercy of what your opponent plays either way, so you don't really gain any real advantage that you could plan for.

There are plenty of resources out there for net decking and articles to read on strategy and deck construction. The game actually makes it really easy for you, as your Identity determines your minimum deck size, which you should also treat as your maximum deck size for all intents and purposes to ensure card draw is consistant throughout your matches.

If it's the random factor that is an issue for you, stick with the Identities with the lowest deck size.

Thanks for the advice. I just wasn't sure how the number of decks needed but your point on the whole 'everything in your opponent's is random' makes a lot of sense. This just saves me time from having to build loads of decks sonreir

…as it is a great resource for all of FFG's LCG's. The deck builders are pretty easy to use, just go in and mess around with it and you'll figure it out pretty quickly. You won't break it, so go wild.

I find it a lot easier than sifting through the physical cards. The site also provides some analytics for the deck you made, so you can scrutinize the probabilities a little better without having to do the math yourself.
