Excellent YT-2000 mod!

I've actually been thinking about doing the modeling for a 1:270 YT-2000 and having Shapeways print one up for me.

In casual games, I can use homebrew stats, and in anything more serious, it can be a "counts as" YT-1300.

Can you link some images of the bottom?

As a fan boy, I am appalled at what you did to the YT-1300. As a modeler, nice work.

I wasn't really planning on getting a second YT-1300, but now I'm thinking to get one and repaint it as the Stellar Envoy - the name the Falcon went by early in its career. Basically white with blue stripes around the circumference. Could clean it up and fill in the damage craters, make it look new. Hmmm….

I think you did a great job and would let you play it as a YT-1300. But as others and you said, not with Falcon title card ^^

Well, I went ahead and did it. Picked up another YT this afternoon. I've been scraping off most of the little raised squares and the conduits on the surface. I've got putty drying in the damaged spots now. I also removed the quad guns, and I'm planning to replace one after I cut it down to a dual mount. I also had to take off the stand mount, because it was attached at an angle, making the thing sit nose down. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Oh, and I went ahead and modified a second YT-1300 (though only slightly); I swapped out the sensor dish for a missile rack and gave it a mostly yellow paint scheme. I'll have to get some pics of that one up this week as well. My third YT-1300 will most definitely remain as it came out of the package, though; I've gotta keep a proper Falcon on hand for Han to fly around in, after all!

I wish my eyes and hands were still young enough to do that kind of kitbashing. I loved doing it with WH 40k years ago.

No no no. Jackboone was the one who kitbashed the Falcon in the OP. All I did was repaint mine. He deserves far more credit for his work than me. I just figured I'd show it in his thread since it was already about modifying the YTs. This is the first one I've shown online (I just created a Flickr account last night).
