does the effect happen to all players cards or just the light side
redemption
It is the owners choice whether or not to use the Interrupt. It is unlikely you would want to let the DS player do it.
Unless the ability is constant (like Tarkin) or preceeded by the word Forced (like the Rancor), using it is completely optional and at the option of the card's controller. In the case of Redemption, the LS player could choose to use the ability to save a DS character, though the circumstances where you would want to do that are rare.
I've considered this and forcing a cheap low force icon back into their hand prevents decreases the number of cards they can draw. Not a huge advantage, but in the right situation it could slow the ds player down.
Yeah this card befuddles me too. I think it is just worded wrong, but you basically can do what everyone is saying. Remember though its once per turn, so if you save a DS unit, you can't save your own.
edit: Maybe it is designed for multi-player when Balance of the Force comes out…?
