Hey all, I am new to the game, just bought it this week and am going to play it for the first time tonight. Any tips or advice I may need for our debut run? I bought Slave 1, an extra tie fighter and x-wing, as well as the Tie advanced and Tie interceptor expansions so will try a few bigger point games as well.

Read all the rule book. Then, read it again. Many rules show up in places you don't expect.

Play the starter game once, before you add all the upgrades etc.

Particularly pay attention to the rules about overlapping bases, Ion canons, obstacles, taking multiple actions, the order of resolving dice changes, pilot skill orders, and the simultaneous attack rule.
