Although I'm fairly sure we have this rule correct, I just thought I'd verify it before our next game.

If there are already Cyclon ships on the board and a new Cyclon Attack crisis card is drawn, you simply add all of the new ships on top of the existing ones, correct?

Suppose, for instance, that there are already 1 basestar, 4 raiders, 3 vipers, and 2 civilian ships on the board. You then draw an attack card that calls for 1 basestar, 3 raiders, 2 heavy raiders, 2 vipers, and 2 civilian ships. Am I correct in assuming that you simply toss all of the new stuff in, creating a grand total of 2 basestars, 7 raiders, 2 heavy raiders, 5 vipers, and 4 civilian ships in play at once?

Also, I'm aware that you don't add any ships for which additional game tokens are unavailable (e.g. you can't have more than 2 basestars in play at once because there are only two basestar tokens). But as long as the tokens hold out, you just keep piling more stuff on with each attack card, correct?

Yep. If there's a choice to be made as to where the last ones go, the current player chooses.

So this is a very important question for Cylon players:

It´s not possible to have more than 2 basestars on the board (cause there are just 2 models included in the box)? Therefore you are not allowed to use any proxies? Cause we had the situation last time, that through two crisis cards we already had 2 base stars brought on the game board and unfortunately we drew a third cylon fleet attack card with an additional basestar - and we had a big discussion that it cant be that the attacks of the cylons are limited to 2 basestars just because we had not enough figures.... Is there any official answer to that problem?

Correct. There can never be more than 2 basestars on the table at once. You do not use proxies or anything like that.

Page 28 of the rulebook states the official rules about component limitations.

Hope that helps. happy.gif

Thanx alot. Seems that I´ve missed that.

Presumably the number of tokens for each ship type was based on playtesting - particularly the limit of only two basestars, since you frequently draw attack cards that would exceed that number.

My guess is that since basestars usually hit when they bombard Galactica and only six damage tokens destroy Galactica and cause the humans to immediately lose, playtesting probably found that having more than a couple of basestars on the board at once was too dangerous for the humans. With three or four basestars in play, just one or two basestar activations (easily achieved with revealed cylons) would probably finish the humans off.

I, for one, am exceedingly glad that there can only be two Basestars on the board. We also had this discussion when it first came up and we fortunately found the components limit ruling. We had already started to debate if we had to add Heavy Raiders in the place of Basestars...

Then again, with both Adama and Apollo as Cylons, an extra Basestar would just have hastened our demise.
