Blocking w/ an Outer Rim Smuggler?

I've just been toying with the idea of using the giant base of the YT as a weapon instead of a detriment. You can block off pretty large sections of the table with a large base if you're in the midst of asteroids, and at range one the generic smuggler isn't all that bad of a ship with a gunner. Take this sample list:

Outer Rim Smuggler w/ Gunner & Chewbacca
3x Rookie Pilot

its 99 points so you should have a shot at iniative, and you have a fair amount of firepower. Your pilot skill is pretty terrible across the board, but you do have a rerollable shot from the smuggler in a 360 arc that should be able to keep you from being completely out maneuvered. Of course, jamming isn't everything, but in my last tournament, one of my games would have gone differently if I had blocked my opponent's ties from flooding the open center of the asteroids.

Good idea? Bad idea? Neither?

i haven't had a chance to play with my large ships yet but i have definitely tried parking a ship in an opponents flight path when i thought it could help me. in addition to one less chance at being shot at you're also robbing your opponent of taking actions if they run into you.

I would find a way to put an Engine Upgrade on the ORS, maybe by dropping Chewie. ORS with the Boost action is an even better blocker.

Thats what I found during the kessel run, was that the YT can pretty much stop and/or control where you want people to go. Recently I've also found its a good way to deal with swarm squads nixing their abilities and keeping the YT to keep areas clear for my own fighters so that they can keep there actions.
