Firespray and YT-1300 How Many?

By afilter, in X-Wing

I wish there was a poll option, or if there is how to use it. :)

So, I have seen the many posts about multiple Firespray and YT-1300 builds. I am wondering how many are actually buying multiples of each?

To me there is only one Milenium Falcon and Slave 1. With that said some of the upgrade cards make it really tempting to get at least one more of each just for the cards and display the models. Just tough to pull the trigger even at $20 online prices for just a few cards.

So, my question is two fold:

1. How Many of each model are people buying?

2. If buying multiples why (to play or for the extra cards)?

i went with 2 of each.. I originally only wanted one Falcon, but i figured that it's possible I may want to screw around one day and play with two YT-1300's.. and considering how sought after these wave 2 ships are right now and i'm sure will be in the future as well (especially the Falcon for collectors) I figured I may as well grab two while i can

I am buying enough models to be able to build any 100 point build possible, so I went with 3 each.

I only went with one of each because I really can't see a tournament competitive list running more than one.

How many did I WANT to buy?!? Well now, that's a different question… :D

I would and did get one, then if you liked it and could justify running more than one get another.

I've got one Falcon and two Firesprays so far. As more become available at my LGS, I'll be bumping up to 3 of each. I'm sticking with my philosophy of 100 points of each ship type, both for playing with all of them and for the extra cards. Plus I don't mind having the spares to loan out if one of my friends wants to try running more than one.

Right now I have one Falcon and no Fire-Sprays. It was more a matter of wanting more A-wings and TIE-interceptors than I wanted Firesparys.

What would I play with if I had them? that is a different question. For the most part, at 100 points, I would probably ever run 1 YT-1300 and it would be Han in the Falcon. The generic Outer-Rim Smugler just doesn't do it for me since it doesn't have the same stats as the hero-piloted YT-1300.

From what I have heard about the Firespray (I don't own one yet) The bounty hunter IS a good option and that opens up the oppertunity to fly a couple of them. I don't think I would ever play with three of them, unlessI had them and I just wanted to try it out ans see what happens

I went with 2 of each.

Even if I rarely ever use more than 1 in a squad, extras of the upgrade cards are nice to have too.

1 of each for now……yes, the Yt-1300 was produced in large numbers but there can only be one Falcon……Slave 1 on the other hand really is a one off - if they jump back to clone era they could release another version for Jango in blue and we already have two EU pilots with Kath and Krassis….. so that might justify another Slave 1 at some point in the future

This is kind of my thinking. I bought my brother a Falcon for his upcoming B-Day this weekend. He does not play(yet), but was a huge Star Wars Han solo/Falcon fan so I fugure he can display the model. If he does not pick up the game I might be able to score his cards. ;)

1 YT-1300, 2 Firespray.

I went with 1 YT-1300 and 2 Firespray. I picked up 2 Firspray because I do want to run a list with two of these guys, and because of the cards. The Firespray is the only way to get Stealth devices. You get to of these upgrades in a box, and I wanted to have at least 4. Lately I've been thinking about picking up a second YT, but I haven't yet because I want 2 more A-Wings and 1 more Interceptor. The A-Wings is the only way to get push the limit, another fantastic card that I want 4 of.

I will have 2 YT's, 2 Firesprays (this ship is really growing on me), 5 awings, 4 interceptors… Pretty much I will have enough to build just about any squad I want, now if I can just start to roll like my daughter, I might go on a huge winning streak!

I would say you are safe with one each, if you are going to double up, get another firespray first…

I have 2 YT's and 2 Firespray's

This is my Firespray list. I choose Stealth over Shield upgrade as it allows points for the Siesmic Charge and will stop at least 1 hit, maybe more, where as the shield only guarentees one stop. Main weakness I see is the low pilot skill making it somewhat easy to ram them.

Total Squad Points: 100

Pilot: Bounty Hunter 1
Firespray-31 (33)
Upgrades:

  • Stealth (3)
  • Gunner (5)
  • Siesmic Charges (2)
  • Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

Pilot: Bounty Hunter 2
Firespray-31 (33)
Upgrades:

  • Stealth (3)
  • Gunner (5)
  • Siesmic Charges (2)
  • Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
