2D Death Star Tower Turrets?

By afilter, in X-Wing

I have seen some wonderful 3Dmaps out there for Death Star scenarios.

I downloaded a Death Star Map that comes in 8"x10" sections andincludes the Trench. I printed them on Large Labels and applied to Foam Board so the trench can be removed for a 40" x40" game surface of 48" by 40" area. So far we have just used it as a map nad not run the actual scenario I have seen posted.

What I would like to find now is 2D top down Turrets that I could place as obstacles like asteroids or incorporate into a future scenario. I have done a search, but found nothing. Has anyone seen something like this?

TIA,

Aaron

Haven't seen anything like that, but it's a fantastic idea. Then you could collide with/land on them like asteroids. Or you could slip the 2D token under the base of the 3D model as others have done with asteroids. I'll keep my eyes open.

Why don you just cut out circles that measure range 1 all around. And when a ship enters the firing arc they roll to take a hit, pretend as if though the turret shot at you like in the movies. 50/50 shot it will hit

Shapeways does have turbolaser turrents

while 3D would be nice they are harder to play with like asteroids. My thought is they could simply be obstacles, targets or given a range with attack dice or any combination of the three.

I used some free downloadable ones, you should be able to make them out in the images below, apologies for the orientation of the 1st image:-

Here's the link http://www.toshachminiatures.com/Free.htm

Those will work excellent and free all the better.

I have seen the 3D stuff and while excellent work just not what I am looking for right now. I want the ships to be able to fly over/through them like and asteroid.
