LCG Prize Structure

By Scoob4, in Star Wars: The Card Game - Organized Play

So my friends and I are probably getting into the organized play aspect of this game, first for us since we did Decipher's old Lord of the Rings TCG. Prizes in those tournaments were usually boosters, or rare foils and boosters. Since LCGs have the fixed cards, what kind of prizes are the other LCGs giving out at their tournaments? (Local and bigger) When we head to our regional tournament, should we just expect a good time, or is there something waiting for the top placing folks?

For the Regionals I know there will be prize support. Playmats, cards, etc. will be given out. The kit for a regional is high, so I believe enough support will be given.

Some of the other guys here will know more of the prize support.

One of the things we are doing in my tournaments is giving out an expansion pack to a random player.

Star Wars™ : The Card Game

1 Regional Champion 2013 trophy

1 World Championship Weekend ticket

2 Regionals 2013 Balance of the Force coins

8 Full-color Star Wars ™: The Card Game playmats

16 sets of 6 Regionals exclusive affiliation cards cards (96 cards total)

1 “Balance prize” - Deck box from a recent Game Night Kit for the last place player

A large 5’ x 2’ ‘Regional Championship 2013’ banner to be displayed at the venue

Thanks for pointing that out, Toqtamish, must have missed it when reading the original Regionals announcement.

What about local level tournaments. I haven't seen any advertised in my immediate area, but if games get enough of a following are there other goodies that can be mailed out to store owners/tournament organizers? Or is it like other card games where it'd be up to individual shops to decide on the prize?

use the Organized Play section under More… For questions about OP stuff

this link shows the current game night kits. Season 1 - 2013. http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=3879

They should give the alternate art affiliation cards to everyone who attends, not just the top 16.

Yep, I would work with a local gaming store about the game night kits. They seem to be a pretty easy way to have "prize support" for local events.

I wish this game had money prizes - or at least cool prizes like TVs or Xboxs…so I could sell those.
