fortified positions

By Robby Stark, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

fortified position reads: Treat all characters in play as though their printed text boxes were blank (except for Traits). Limit 1 per plot deck.

knight of the red fork reads: After you play Knight of the Red Fork from your hand, kneel all non-House Tully cards you control. Knight of the Red Fork does not stand during the standing phase if you lost dominance this round.

edmure's host reads: No attachments. Immune to events. Lower the cost to play Edmure's Host by 1 for each House Tully character you control.

from what I understand, fortified position is a constant effect. does that means that it works on cards that are not yet in play? let's work with the two cards I gave as examples. knight of the red fork is still in my hand and my active plot card is fortified positions. when I play him from my hand during marshaling, does it triggers his passive ability and kneels my non-tully guys? another scenario: edmure's host is still in my hand and I have a bunch of tullys in play. Do I get the reduced cost to marshal edmure's hsot?

also on a side note why does it reads ''limit 1 per plot deck'' on fortified position? isn't that redundant since it's a plot card?

Fortified position is a constant effect but by its terms it only affects character cards in play. FP has no effect on out of play cards like those in yoru hand So, when KotRF enters play, its text box is blanked immediately; thus, the passive effect doesn't trigger in Step 4. Nor would its dominance phase text apply.

Edmure's Host in your hand is unaffected. Your House Tully cards in play still have their traits, so his reduction text is still operative. But once he enters play, he loses his No Attachments and Immune to Events keywords while FP is revealed.

And yes, the "limit 1" text on the plot is redundant.
